Re: Iwo-Jima 1.72 Flag Raising Set

I'd love to get that 1/6th set. Any one know where or if it is out?

I can take umbrage, I can take the cake, I can take the A-Train, I can take two and call me in the morning, but I cannot take this sitting down. Now, if you'll excuse me, I'm going to take five.

I'm afraid you won't find that particular set as it is a "custom made" item(s), however 21st Century Toys did put out a set a few years back and the only place to find them now is on evilBay!

Re: Iwo-Jima 1.72 Flag Raising Set

Thanks, FlyXwire, a very impressive display. The detail on those 1.6 figures is quite scary!

For those of us who are small-scale 1.72, it is possible to make an impressive diorama with the 1.72 set, and to have a 1.72 plane overflying the flag-raising scenario. That would look cool and would not be difficult to achieve. You could also include the unsung cameraman, and make history come to life!

Re: Iwo-Jima 1.72 Flag Raising Set

That 1:6 set was impressive. I know that King & Country did the Iwo Jima Flag raising set in 1:30 a while back. Figarti also did one last year. Alex from Battlescene Productions (www.battlesceneproductions.com) did a diorama that was from the perspective that you mentioned; behind the camera man so you could get an idea of the total picture. I looked but couldn't find the diorama. He has some of the pictures that I was looking for in a short movie clip he made. Here is the link to that.
