Hot Toys 1/6th USMC F-4 'Nam' Aviator

From time to time, I will post some info about my growing 1/6th aviator figures collection on here (I hope the admins won't mind at all) as I'm very fond of collecting pilot figures of different sizes & scales as part of my general interests and taste for collecting anything related to military aviation. A toy manufacturer called Hot Toys...nope, it ain't producing 'adult sex toys' mind you .... had recently announced a 12"
figure of a USMC F-4 Phantom driver clad in 'tiger-stripe's flightsuit and w/essential equipment and flying kit typical for a Nam-era fighter jock of that time period. Needless to say, I will be adding this extremely detailed and nicely done figure for my collection of different aviators from all era.

Pretty cool, flyXwire. Do you know approximately how much these will sell for?

I don't normally collect these types of figures, but that looks very detailed.

Of course, I have the real helmet, oxygen mask, flight suits, boots, and G-suit at home, so I could just get a 1/1 scale manequin and put them on it (the Air Force let me keep all that stuff when I retired. I don't have the parachute harness or combat vest, though. They kept those).

Hey there FVD, This figure retails for about $150+ a set, and the reason for that is - it is marketed for the "adult collector" as a high-end collectibles and produced in very limited numbers only.
As you can see, the product is very detailed and constructed in almost precise replica "detail-for-detail" of the real deal. The manufacturer really did their homework and research well on this figure. Still, it's very reasonably priced compared to the classic GI Joe dolls which commands
far more dollars ie. $300 range on up, and the GI Joes don't even come close to the very detailed components of this figure by comparison!

I also have several 1:1 jet pilot gear/equipment with all the stuff you mentioned. I've been an avid collector of aviator paraphenalias since back in the 80's, and I do have a Russian Zsh jet helmet and KM Oxygen
masks among others in my collection of aviator gears and equipment.

Thanks for the info flyXwire. $150, or even a bit more, doesn't seem out of line considering the detail on the figure, as you say. This might be something I'll have to acquire, but I'd want to see first what other variants (eras, countries, services, equipment, etc...) they might offer eventually.

Re: Hot Toys 1/6th USMC F-4 'Nam' Aviator

I have two of Hot Toys previous aviators sets: an F-16 Viper pilot and an F-22 Raptor pilot (middle figure below) I think you'll like the F-16 pilot figure....wink-wink!
Both aviators have the latest issue combat flying kit such as the "Combat Edge System" helmet/oxygen masks and torso g-suit combination. Although the F-22 pilot
doesn't have the latest Helmet mounted "heads-up and targeting" module that's equiping the next gen Raptor flyboys. I am awaiting the release of two new pilot figures
rumored to be either an RAF or a Soviet Flanker/Fulcrum driver. I'm hoping for the latter....

There is quite a noticeable 'bulge' by the crotch area but I wouldn't go there....

Hey JP, I'll send these pilots to buzz your place by sundown.
