Re: Figures section

I'd also like to see a figure forum for prepainted figures (diecast related figures), though if not that's fine too. To me, this never seemed like an exclusive aviation forum as I found it doing a search for Dragon Armor. If one is not interested in armor or figures, simply skip past that part of the forum like I skip past the aviation part.

Re: Figures section

Hello I think a figure section is a great idea.
I have not yet found any sitting 1/72 figures to place in my dragon planes.
I sawed the legs of a standing figure and placed it in my ixo polikarpov its better than no pilot at all.

Re: Figures section

I'm ok with a "Figures" section or sub-section.

I think the overall common interest that draws people to this community is modern/historical diecast planes. However, my perception has expanded to view this forum to be about "Military Diecast." (While I very rarely check the vehicle section - I have no problem with it and enjoy it being here.)

The more time I spend on/in this "community" and the more individual/group communication I have with other members - the more I see this as a community first who was drawn together by our interest in diecast aviation. Its just like how I've met friends throughout my life - meet someone based on an interest, then the relationship expands into other areas you find you have in common. I see this forum as a "meeting area" with a bunch of different tables to visit for different "discussion" topics.

I'd say - "expand" the forum (if its not a space issue) - if only 5-6 folks reg interact in a "Figures" or "Sci-Fi" section so be it. I think our common overriding dominance will always be diecast aviation. (My thought on a Sci-Fi diecast section was, thinking that it relates to aviation - even though it is in a fantasy way.)

(Of course, I also see the point of keeping this forum lean and narrowly focused as well - )

Can we at the VERY least add sections on "Politics" and "Religion" as well? Only joking. Did I miss any appropiate icons? (I was limited to 8.)

I specifically asked for an up-grade to 10! 8 just isn't enough!

Re: Figures section

Yes, figures! I'm in.

Have you guys seen the stuff Frontline makes call the Air Wars Series

Do a google for it or go to the Historic Aviation site and do a search for figure set. Holy crap! An entire B-17 crew, B-25 crew, Luftwaffe and RAF pilots, Galland and Moelders figures. Luftwaffe pilots holding the tail section of a B-17. All in 1/32 and handpainted metal. They are k&K in quality but they are our genre. You have to see them...ah the heck with it I'll load some pics. Give me a few minutes.

This is my favorite!

Another great one!

Re: Figures section

Nothing wrong with a figure section, but I propose to keep to the usual 1:72 and 1:32/35 scales for planes and military models and other scales for civil aviation. Otherwise, this would turn into a general modelling board.
It's OK that there is a lot of interest in vehicles and planes, since most of us are addicted to both, thanks to evil Corgi and Evil Dragon

BTW, I've rarely seen a discussion of Schabak 1:600 and Herpa 1:500 airliners. No collectors out there...?
