I THINK I'VE FOUND 1/72 PAINTED FIGURES - Soon

Here's the story :

I was searching around for Dragon 1/72 tanks yesterday when I happened across this site :

eBay Store - GHOSTDIVISION QUARTERMASTER: 1 35 Painted Figures, Magazines Books, Collectibles Candy Toys

It's an E-bay store out of Singapore. They do lots of WWII pre-painted figures. Most of their stuff is in 1/35 scale or 1/48 scale, but they have a small group of 1/72 figures (currently they are all U-boat crews!?! ). Their store info. says they paint and sell over a hundred figures a month, and that they are "the largest builder of quality built models and painted figures on E-Bay". The figures are great looking (See attached pictures below - they are from the store auctions. Their caption says the pictures are magnified and the figures look better once they are in your hand). The price is quite decent (all Buy It Now) and the shipping is amazingly low, seeing how its coming from Singapore. The 1/48 and 1/35 one are great, too.

So I sent an E-Bay message to the store and asked them if they ever did WWII aircraft ground crew or pilot figures. I told them about the forum and that a bunch of us would love to find pre-painted figures to go with the 1/72 planes, and that there really seemed to be no good, decently priced source. He e-mailed be back this morning to say he doesn't have any right now (and it sounded like he hasn't done any before, but I'm not sure), but he was going to get working on some right away. He said it would take him a month or two to get them in, paint them and get them ready. He didn't specify exactly what figures he was going to do, but I e-mailed him back and stated that U.S. and German ground crews / pilots would probably be the most popular.

So, with luck, we might have a source for 1/72 pre-painted figures to go with our planes by February or March. The store owner said he would e-mail me when the figures were ready. But he might get a better idea of what you guys want and how much interest there is for the figures if you guys e-mail him. Go ahead and check out the E-Bay store site (see Store Categories "1/48, 1/72 Painted Figures") and see if they are what we're looking for. If it's to your liking, e-mail the owner so we can show him he has a market for pilot / ground crew figures. That's about it. I'll get back to you when I hear more.

Bye-eye, SkyBuffalo

I seem to remember someone released a 1/72 U-Boat kit recently. That would explain the U-Boat crew figures.

Hope you don't mind SB I put your Link on the UK forum as I know many of the guy's there would also like 1/72 airfield figures. It has been suggested that if we all contact the Ebayer it would confirm that there is a demand for his product and that there is gap in the market he could fill. Thanks for the Link SB

Thanks SB for the info, I've seen this Ebay store too, but I though the seller was not interessed in other 1/72 figures than U boot's ones...
Good idea to ask him for painted crew/airfield figures !!
His work seems to be nice, well done, and far better than I could do on 1/72 figures !!
Waiting for final products and... decent prices !

Link it up, Johnnyboy! The more the merrier! The more input he gets, hopefully the more figures he'll make.

We can't let the U-boat geeks win and get all the figures. Airplane geeks RULE!
