Actually, FoV makes figure sets. Dragon also makes beautiful 1/72 figs, but you can get them only with exclusives or a boring rererererelease-tank

Re: We all need prepainted figures

Yeah, I’ve thought about this, too. How hard could it be to produce accessory 1/72 figures of Cyber-Hobby dio quality?

Dragon issued six 1/35 pre-painted tank aces in conjunction with their new 1/35 Tigers. Now all they have to do is produce the 1/72 variety.

Or – if Dragon got really really creative – they could swap their stodgy black bases with diorama supports (nothing fancy), similar to their 1/144 Can.Do pocket army bases. Throw in a tank commander and/or crew member with that combo, and brother ... you couldn't keep Dragon Armor in stock.

Glad to hear Admiral is planning on some figures, Legio.

It is never too late to be what you might have been.

Re: We all need prepainted figures

Dear Salazar,

If you don't have the time to paint your own, Preiser, that producer of millions of figure sets for diorama makersand railway buffs, produce pre-painted sets of 6 figures in hard plastic in 1.87 and 1.72 scales ( as well as 1.100,1.25, 1.200 etc. )
They have several of their excellent for sale in little, clear plastic cases :
german WW2 soldiers on leave
german WW2 soldiers at rest
german WW2 pilots at rest
etc.
They are a German company and produce the widest range of pre-painted figures ( and even more unpainted ones ) in small scales like 1/72in the world!

They are hard to get hold of, so I suggest that you surf the net to see what is available then check out ebay.

On eof the biggest Model Railway sites in ebay shops has a huge range.

Good luck! If you are looking for diorama figures in 1.72 you'll get them from Preiser

Remember, only some dealers stock the pre-painted ones while many dealers stock a vast range. A couple of hours of research should pay off.

best wishes,

MoMo

Yes this is a big item I gripe about often... The crap little slugs o plastic w/ come w/ the Corgi, Dragon, Witty etc models.
I am a model builder as well as die cast/plastic "pre-built" collector. The quality of even the best pre made/painted figure subjects seem very weak to me. Look @ the other thread on 1/72 German figs... I'll wait... THAT is a good looking figure!!! That crud in Corgi, Dragon Armor, Witty, is ridiculous! Just leave it out and let me do my own! I am even now removing the little bit o rubber glued into the Witty Red-JASDF 50th F-15. Hasagawa makes a fine set of seated pilots w/ are easy to paint and MUCH more accurate.
My figure painting ability is where i am spending a bit o time lately trying to improve...

Re: We all need prepainted figures

Dear Salazar,

As I said, Preiser's pre-painted figures are not cheap. But, with a little paint and effort, you could track down and model one of their brilliant 12 piece panzer grenadier sets at rest or advancing. These sets I could wax lyrical on, but you will find brilliant reviews about them on a site called " Plastic Soldier Review" which reviews all 1.72 sets covering all eras.

Preiser also has tank crewmen ammunitioning and at rest. They cover Russian crews doing similar things! Just be careful to check the scales because Preiser make similar sets in 1.87 scale!

The brilliant thing about these sets is that they provide dozens of interchangable parts so that you can model 12 unique figures from what seems to be two sprues of six identical figures with lots of extras which you can then detail other vehicles with!

There are other sets of German troops, but don't go for the German paras! They are poor in comparison to the other sets. I recommend the set for a German 75mm anti-tank gun. Brillant when made up!

Good hunting!
