Exclamation Del Prado Men at War Series

I just found my way back to this forum.

Is anyone collecting the Del Prado figures? I started in 2004, the reason for my now being a collector of diecast metal and plastic airplanes.

I have all pilots of the Men at War series of 100 figures.

Glad that you made it back man.

I can take umbrage, I can take the cake, I can take the A-Train, I can take two and call me in the morning, but I cannot take this sitting down. Now, if you'll excuse me, I'm going to take five.

George Preddy was........Just the greatest fighter pilot who ever squinted through a gunsight.
He was a complete fighter pilot......Colonel John C. Meyer Deputy Commander of the 352nd.

Size Isn't Everything re: Del Prado Men at War

I use a tiny ruler and they measured 7mm. There were 100 in the series. I chose only those having to do with aviation.

I have 10 pilots, one aircraftwoman from Fighter Command, one USAAF MP, and a lance corporal from the Luftwaffe Field Division.

Here they are:

RAF Fighter Pilot: 1940
USAAF Fighter Pilot: 1944
WWI Georges Guynemer
Balloon Observer: 1917
JAAF Pilot: 1943
MAJ Heinz Bar: 1944
Military Aviator Aero Service: 1918
Royal Flying Corps Pikot: 1914
3rd Free French Fighter : 1943
"Cobber" Kain: 1940

I have each booklet that accompanies the little guys, though I had to find some of them separate from my purchases--mostly from UK eBay.

Here's a site you might find the complete lising of the series items.

There is now a dealer somewhere in California that is handling Del Prado.

Re: Del Prado Men at War Series

Just liberated 3 of these from evilbay..

No.8 RAF Figher pilot.
No.36 Sgt. Airborne troops.
No.66 Hurricane Ace.

Nicely detailed they measure 65mm tall, or about 1:28 scale so slightly larger than the forward march figures.
