Re: 1/72 German armoured infantry

If you want to see some really good painted 1:72 figures, look below. I didn't paint them, but wish I did. The painting detail on this scale of figure is amazing, right down to the "glow in the dark" paint that was used on the gorget. Even mud splattered up on the bottom of the coats.

Re: 1/72 German armoured infantry

Dear Legio,

Great job on the ceasar figures. I've painted them too...but I stuck to the reverse side of the camo smock. This set is a little over scale when compared to Pegasus sets. I have painted the two Waffen SS sets, but have yet to do the Germans in Berlin, 1945, set and the early war Mortar Team set.

Pegasus sets are brilliant when made up, based and painted. And it's an American company out of Carlifornia.

I'm not geared up at this time to take digital pictures at this time, but when I am, I'll post some pictures of what I've done.

best wishes,

MoMo

Re: 1/72 German armoured infantry

P.S. I think that the set of German Military Police may be the Armourfast set of that name. ( check it out on the Plastic Soldier Review 1.72 site ). If they aren't Armourfast, they are metal wargame figures... SHQ????

I agree. A brilliant and painstaking paint job.

cheers,

MoMo

Re: 1/72 German armoured infantry

The German military police shown above are by "AB Figures" in the UK, extremely nice figures.

I have the Pegasus Hobbies Battle for Berlin German figures and they are very nice, though quite soft plastic. I haven't done anything with them yet, partly because you have to glue most of the arms into position which I don't want to deal with. They should look quite striking once all together and painted.

Re: 1/72 German armoured infantry

Dear Legio,

Take the plunge and get to work on those Pegasus figures! It will be worth the work which they demand.

I paint the camo scheme in 3 colours while they are on the sprue ( Waffen SS sets 1 and 2 ). I then paint the details when they have been cut free. i am not a wargamer so I can carve the bases from 3 mm Plasticard. Once you have assembled a couple, after painting most parts seperately, the figures look magnificent. Best on the market to scale with 1.72 hardware. You'll need a bunch of them to go with all those 1.72 softskins and half-tracks which should be appearing soon. My FOV 251 Hanomags gook great with them...they compliment one another!

You have to glue the soft plastic with Superglue so be careful!

Tell the truth, did you put the Jagpanther back in the box after you photographed it?

No way, I throw all the boxes right in the trash where they belong. I hold on to the plastic display cases to sell once I get enough together, but all my armor sits free on a display shelf or in various dioramas I have.

Re: 1/72 German armoured infantry

Has anyone ever tried to paint a camo pattern on his 1/72 figs?
