Re: 1/72 German armoured infantry

Here are some pictures of my 1:72 painted winter Germans from Caesar...

Did you paint them? They look fantastic. I couldn't render such detail in a decade of trying. Nice.

Thanks for the positive feedback on the figures. Yes I painted them, I have a bunch more to paint soon as well. This was a test to see how the winter scheme would come out.

These are truly excellent - they look alive and very, very cold...

Re: 1/72 German armoured infantry

Nice job!
I paint figures myself, though I go for the Sci-fi type (Warhammer).
The green sawdusty stuff is called 'Flock' BTW
Model railway guys use it by the bucket load. Comes in many colours and types Great for basing figures.
Cork floor tiles work really well for textured ground if you scratch them up, then undercoat and paint to colour.
Plenty more suggestions if you are interested!

Wow Lego and Mark, beautifully done. Thinking of giving that a try, will be happy if they turn out half as good as yours. Great Job.

By the way, kabelace, been meaning to tell you that I have to chuckle everytime I see your avatar of Sergeant Schultz from "Hogan's Heroes! He was such a character!

Re: 1/72 German armoured infantry

Great paint jobs guys! It's also very interesting to see the perspective they give to the diecast armour!

Thinking about another thread on figures a while back on MHI, I didn't give it much thought then, but this really looks good.

I'd be happy to get them ready painted like with diecast.
