Easy Model Wish Lists, Anyone?

As many of us know, MRC's Easy Model line will be giving us interesting WW II warbirds like the rarely- or never-done HE-162, Buffalo,Tempest V, LA-7 and Dewoitine D. 520 in the near future along with equally interesting post WW II planes such as the F-84, Mig-15 and Bearcat. And, of course, they are also planning to send us a lot of planes that already crowd our diecast shelves in fairly large numbers from a variety of manufacturers.

Which raises this question. Assuming that MRC's retail prices for 1:72nd scale fighters or attack planes such as the Stuka held at about $10-12 and they wanted to charge $25 per model for two or three-engined planes, what would you like to see them do next? Here are a few options to consider:

1) Continue with more WW II single-engine types like the MC-202, Lagg-3, I-153, I-16, P-36, Firefly, Tony, Oscar, Frank, TA-152, Val, Kate, IL-2M, Fiat CR-42, Fokker D XXI, etc

2) Go into the midsize WW II range with the ME-410, DO-17Z, Hudson, PE-2, Betty, SM-79, P-61, Nick, etc

30 Greatly expand their line of jet fighters and bombers, including planes like the Mig-17, Mig-21, Mig-23, F-105, F-106, Panther, the Meteor, Hawker Hunter, SAAB 29, SAAB Draken, Mirage F.1 and even larger planes such as the Vautour, IL-28 or the B-58.

Oh boy, I’ll tell ya—I’m REALLY drooling over those La-7s. If they’re anywhere near as nice as Easy Model’s Mig 3s and Yak 3s, I’ll be a happy camper. Honestly, they’re exceptional little models, even if they are plastic.

Can’t improve on your list, Epapazian. Everything you list is a winner.

Jets, jets, jets....For example Mirage's like III or IV and the 2000 variants beside the C which is widely available. Also would like some Russian made jets with export markings like Mig-21. The F-86 mentionned before is already well done by Corgi and very cheap, I got my 3 (A,F and E) for $15 each and they are limited editions.
Some Swedish built jets would be welcome too. Maybe some large tankers, bombers, transport or anti submarine warfare aircraft from any nations, these are expensive in metal and could be very affordable in plastic.

Re: Easy Model Wish Lists, Anyone?

This apparently wasn't in the question, but how about a B 29?

Re: Easy Model Wish Lists, Anyone?

The company that makes easy models also makes figures in 1:72. Along with all the great tanks and aircraft they sell I would love to see some ground crews and pilots from them.

Yes, I second this; a B-29 in 1:72 (in plastic) should not be too difficult and price would not be too ridiculous. MRC could make up the temporary void that Corgi has left with producing cheap, but good quality alternatives in the 4-engine bomber realm. A Short Stirling comes to mind, as well as a Short Sunderland, a Piaggio P-108, a Russian Pe-8, and, perhaps, a Japanese 'Emily' and 'Mavis' as well.

Looking forward to annoying the 'former' Florida Diecast Forum members!!

Of course, many of us would love to see MRC move in this direction, however it seem like a rather huge leap---and a very risky one, at that--to go from single engined fighters at $10-12 apiece, to four engined birds, many of which are relatively unknown. What would MRC's retail price point be for 1:72md scale heavies----perhaps $35-45? I happen to think that a WW II medium bomber line in 1:72nd scale might meet with an enthusiastic response. I also believe that heavies like the FW-200, Emily, Short Sterling, Whitley, etc from WW II plus post WW II entries such as the B-47, B-36, B-52, B-29, B-1, Bear, Bison, Vulcan, etc could be viable in a new scale. Not 1:72nd, as that may be too big a risk for MRC and not 1:144th, as Altaya is already giving us that and these models are just too small to suit the taste of most collectors. So, what about a 1:100th scale line for the biggies? That reduces the manufacturer's risk, cuts prices and still gives us decent sized models.

Re: Easy Model Wish Lists, Anyone?

I'll list the 3 I always list.

Vindicator
Devastator
Helldiver

The others you have on the list are pretty much everthing. I like odd Italian bombers too but don't have a book handy.
