Re: Easy Models look and feel Cheap

Edit: I don't want to argue about the original subject of this thread. It's not worth anyone's time or efforts. If we can all agree to disagree and carry on enjoying our hobby, that'd be great.

One final note though - try posting something like this in the Corgi birdcage and see how long you last here at the Model Hangar.

Re: Easy Models look and feel Cheap

Chairman Milo, sounds quite dictatorial to me. I'm of the opinion that Biggie has every right to express his opinion. If he hates them that is his perogative.

You further insult him with assinine commentary regarding a possible affilation to a competitor(s). Your rebuke is quite shrill and not quite in keeping

with the good intent of this forum.

To share information, to benefit from said information. Keep comments within the good spirit of the Forum.

Thank you Swoop, you need not agree with my opinion but it is good to share info. If I was bashing IXO it would be ok even though they are 1 million times nicer and a better buy than these Easy Model thingys.

Biggie

Cool Re: Easy Models look and feel Cheap

Last post on this overheated thread, I hope. My 17 Easy Models average $9.31 per model. My 25 IXOs average $23.76 per model. Not exactly a couple of dollars difference as you suggest and, believe me, I bargain hunt the Internet. As an earlier forum member has posted, if you don't like them, then don't buy them, but save us from your kvetching.

I agree with the bargain hunting attitude. I have nailed a few Dragon models under $10.00 and latest Gemini Aces Bf 109F under $20.00. Picking some of these at lower prices is definitely the way to go. If you get stung on a bad one, it is not so bad if you did not fork too much out. Oh, and the best part of this forum is open discussion, it provides a means by which members can exchange ideas and help each other on building up their collections. It is ok to disagree, but it also should be tempered with some civility. Some folks may shy away from this forum if they feel they cannot express their viewpoints without somebody responding in a condescending fashion. Shoot, last time I checked, I do not remember a job title for professional die cast collector (It would be a cool job though.).

Re: Easy Models look and feel Cheap

1st of all, they have not released most of the announced unusual models, There main line consist of P-47, P-51, BF109, Wildcat, Corsair, Hellcat, FW190, Hurricane, P-40, Spitfire, all done in diecast and not much more money for something nice, heck the Forces of Valor models from Target are 100 times nicer in metal for a dollar or two more. Anyone who wants to collect these lightweight pieces of poop has to be living in there own crazy world. I picked up some IXO lately for $15.00 each, and they are 10 times nicer than these. The reason I posted was someone on here was raving about these. Even the prop feels like a giant piece of crap, how do they make plastic feel even cheaper than ? plastic????? Try and spin the prop it will almost break off, and barely spins? Look at the wings and tail areas you will see just how lousy unpainted styrene can look. Look at where one color changes to another, yuckkkkkkkk.

At $5.99 retail these would be interesting, anything more they are a waste of money.

New announced releases, not seen anywhere since the announcement a year ago.

Texan, why would anyone want a $14.00 version of this when you can get the excellent Hobby Masters for under $20.00???

A ton of other announcements with no show at retail for any of the cooler planes.

Cmon IXO go ahead and do some more semi accurate great looking heavy diecast oddball aircraft.

Biggie

Biggie, Everyone is entitled to an opinion and we have heard yours.. I would suggest we all calm down, let cooler heads prevail and as Chairman suggested, that we agree to disagree because there are members here that like the Easymodel line, just like you like what you do..

And FYI, Easymodel has issued a slew of new models including the P-39, Ms-406, a ton of new Helicopters, Submarines and armor.. More will come, but there is a huge catalog to fill and not much time to do it..

Arrow Re: Easy Models look and feel Cheap

Ok lets all head back to your corner of choice.
This thread has got a few peoples back up< Thank the Lord that one of them was not Skunkeee!> I am the first to admit that Easy Models have made some mistakes but I am still happy with them to the point that I am only 2 short of having the 105 models featured in the first booklet. Now if these are not to your liking then I am fine with that but one thing for sure they like IXO have given collectors a choice . What more it made collecting more easier to the next genartion who have not the money to buy the better quailty models.

Re: Easy Models look and feel Cheap

Easy Models are the only game in town if you want a MiG-3 or a FM-2. (Dragon's FM-2 doesn't have the extended vertical fin.)

Re: Easy Models look and feel Cheap

I just received a MS.406 and noticed in their packing, they did away with the scotch tape holding the wings in place. They are using the same coated wire as with the fuselage ties.

I also looked at the included new model catalog, and Easy Models will also be the only game in town for a 1/72 Buffalo and Tempest V.
