Uh-34

Hey guys, I just got two of the UH-34's from Easy model. I have to say that they look pretty cool. I also got a Sea Knight. I am thrilled with these models. The paint and markings are right on.

I can take umbrage, I can take the cake, I can take the A-Train, I can take two and call me in the morning, but I cannot take this sitting down. Now, if you'll excuse me, I'm going to take five.

Re: Uh-34

Gotta say I agree with you MD! These are pretty cool for being plastic and will do until Corgi comes out with their diecast versions.

An interesting thing is that my uncle was a pilot with the VNAF HS-215, one of the sister helicopter squadrons to HS-213 which MRC made. My uncle's been asking me for a model of the Choctaw (in any livery) forever but I was too lazy to build one for him. I got the thing (+ 2 extra) as soon as it came out and haven't told him yet but he's due into town in about a week so he should be pleasantly surprised!

Even after his squadron converted to the/and he loved flying the Huey (and Jet Ranger in civilian life), his favorite was still the UH-34.

Here's a cool link:

Re: Uh-34

I saw the H-34s at a hobbyshop a couple weeks ago...Corgi may blow EM out of the water in the "heft" department, but they better really be on their game with their H-34s to go up against these...pretty damn nice, especially for the money in my opinion.

MD, did you get "Evil Eyes"? ... that appeared to be the only one they didn't have, and of course that's the one I want!

Re: Uh-34

I did, I got evil eyes, and another. I think Evil Eyes is a Marine bird, and then I got an Army on as well. I also got the CH-46. Very cool stuff. The interiors are very detailed as well.

Agreed Skunky. These are very great for the price. I don't think they will ever challenge the big boys (especially with some of their planes) but the choppers are nicely done.

Speaking of HMM-163 "Evil Eyes", MRC did something kinda cool by producing both the H-34 and the H-64 in this Squadron livery. Now if I'll post pictures later.

Here's a link to the history of HMM-163 "Evil Eyes" by Norm Urban. Interesting how they came up with the idea to paint eyes on their choppers.
