Being a Jethead and not a Prophead I think they look nice, the selection is huge and the price is right. Heard a rumor, they may be doing jets in the future. If so may have to look into them.

LeeG,

Beware the canopies of the Easy Model Spits, they seem oversized.

Re: Easy Models getting the eyeball test

Thank you for the welcome Captian Eddie and bsmith13.

RonO – I agree the Spit canopies are a little oversize. What attracted me initially to the Easy Models was Tex Hill’s P-40B, Charles Older’s P-40B, Clive Cadwell’s P-40C, and the Mig-3.

The F4F, FM-2 and F6F are well done. I thinking of taking the rockets off Ike Kepford’s F4U-1a as they are unnecessary.

I also like the P-47Ds. With a big plane like the P-47 there is a plus for plastic over cast metal. I prefer to display my models sitting on their landing gear. I have no concerns about the Easy Model P-47 sitting on its gear, but I’m afraid to take my Corgi P-47D razorback off its stand.

My Corgi P47s sit on their wheels ok. However the Dragon P47s are much better. I saw some Easy models today and sorry but I did not like them , ah well each to his own.
BTW, Welcome to the forum leeg.

Re: Easy Models getting the eyeball test

I have replace my two Easy Model Spitfire Mk Vb Trops with two similarly configured and camouflaged Dragon models. After getting a Gemini Aces Spitfire MkIX and Corgi MkVIII and MkIX, the lack of wheel well fairings and the oversize canopies pushed me over the edge. (That, plus I got the Dragon models on sale for $19.95 each).

I like the Dragon models a lot. They are a big enough step up to easily justify the cost difference. But I must concede that Easy Models does do a better job on the radio mast, tail wheel and with the wing root thickness.

Re: Easy Models getting the eyeball test

Easy model is much like IXO.. Get the planes to fill the gaps and leave the rest.. As with IXO, Easymodel makes some nice stuff and they make some not-so-nice stuff..

..and just like Corgi, Dragon and other names. Some good, some bad, some so-so....so go with what you like.

Re: Easy Models getting the eyeball test

Is there any chance that someone who has some Easy models and diecast of the same aircraft could do a photo line up and see if we can figure out which is which?
This could help us to determine if they are worthy comparisons. The Easy models would be a great way to create some interesting diorama pieces though, at little expense (folded wings and open cockpits or details)
