Re: Easy Models

I have 9 Easy Model planes on the way and plan on giving them a shot of dullcoat after seeing the pictures posted by wmosner. Thanks for the pics.

I'm not playing "Can You Top This", although it may come across that way. At last count I have 46 different mo0dels, many of them Bf-109s. I've already sprayed dull coat on 4 models, and I really like the results. However, I've learned two things: masking the cockpit tends to remove the canopy when removing the masking tape, and (2), making a cardboard mask works, but you really need to cut one for each different model. So, I'm going to try using liquid masking tape and see how it works. If it doesn't pull off the canopy it's going to prove a simple solution to an annoying problem. Anyone tried using liquid masking tape and, if so, how difficult is it to remove? I'm in the process of shooting pics on various dull coated Easy Models and I'll pass them along.

Re: Easy Models

stalag, I used to use liquid mask a lot when I was building models..It lifts off quite easily with a pair of tweezers.

Re: Easy Models

I just finished packing all of my planes for our move, 9 of which are Easy. I love the fact that they do stuff no one else does. I have 3 hurricanes, one Finnish, and one or two Russian, along witht he YAK, Mig-3, and anything else they made which is different from what the mainstream offers. until you hold them, they look really comparable. And really decently priced too.

May the farts be with you, and not me.

Skunky, perhaps we should rename this website "Been There, Done That; and Don't Look Any Further:" Regardless of the question. someone on this site has an intelligent response.

Re: Easy Models

Here are a few pics of some of my Easy Model planes. Mostly Corsairs, Wildcats. I've shot the Dragon "folding wings" Corsair (wich is DC) for comparison.

Re: Easy Models

I use the blue-colored masking tape, as it is meant to be used for masking when doing interior painting. It hasn't lifted paint off a canopy yet, for me.
