Is Trumpeter also Easy Models?

I saw these pair advertised as finished models by logo, and I'm wondering that this company and Easy Models are one and the same?

Re: Is Trumpeter also Easy Models?

Yes I believe Trumpeter is the parent company. Easy Model seems to be based in Macau, now part of China.

Read this from the box label.

Re: Is Trumpeter also Easy Models?

Easy model is a part of the MRC (Model Rectifier Corp) who also owns Academy Models.. I have a couple of the Trumpeter prebuilt planes and they are no where near the Easy model range.. As a matter of fact, the Trumpeter stuff was so bad, that I considered taking them back and getting my money back..

Talking Re: Is Trumpeter also Easy Models?

I have to differ with the last thread. Trumpeter started the ball rolling with pre built plastic and thats how I got my RAAF Mustang. The fact is Easy Model have released the Trumpter Mustangs , same moldings just a different package. I entered a thread about this group of five that is not in the booklet that comes with the models.

Okay, I admit that I don't have an Easy model Mustang, but just going off pics of the EM Mustang and the POS Trumpeter one I do have, I was making a call on the quality.. I do know for a fact that Easy Model is made by MRC and that Trumpeter is NOT..

Re: Is Trumpeter also Easy Models?

Yes have seen those kits, the Hurricane I looked at had a complete fusealarge so no join lines. Still I rather buy complete and make the ones that are not done yet. My latest project is a 1/72 Lockheed Hudson in RAAF.

Lightbulb Re: Is Trumpeter also Easy Models?

I have a Mustang from each Companies packaging and they do seem to be from the same molds. This "sharing" of molds is rather common and especially w/ Trumpeter. There are also a group of "MRC" released tanks which I have purchased which also had the Trumpeter web site printed on the boxes, so I figure they market the models under both entities.
BTW: MRC is not actually a manufacturer, they are an import/export concern that represents the manufacturers here in the USA (and probably elsewhere).
In example MRC for many years was the sole US importer for Tamiya models until Tamiya went to direct export and marketing.
The idea has also been put forward that some of the new Corgi products for 07 may be "other" manufacturers molds done in specific agreed to schemes. And/or that Corgi may be buying out entire production runs of Hobbymaster and other manufacturers subjects.
This is only conjecture @ this point but certainly would not be a new concept.

Re: Is Trumpeter also Easy Models?

I just received my two Trumpeter models of the P-51s. Below are attached pics. These models have to be seen in the flesh to be impressed, and I'm certainly VERY IMPRESSED! The two models have a 'solid' feel to it and has a certain heft like a diecast model. Mine are as perfect as they come. Of course that's just my opinion. Please excuse the picture quality. I really need to get me a higher mega-pixel contraption.

PROS: Livery/scheme(s) fillers for those who want specific squadron units
in ETO service; model is accurate and on par with Dragon mold of P-51

CONS: Prop don't spin, Landing gear is permanent in "down position", canopy is glued shut

Squadron Markings and origin:

"Belligerent Bets" is from the 319th FS, 325th FG, 15th AF, Lesina, Italy

"Jackie" is from the 360th FS, 355th FG, 8th AF, Martelsham Heath, Britain

Re: Is Trumpeter also Easy Models?

Today I received the four Easy Models I ordered: F4F VF-41; P-51D 362FS/362FG; Bf109G-6 VII./JG3 and FW 190D-9 IV./JG3. To say that I was pleasantly surprised with what I got would be an understatement worthy of an Englishman. At $8.19 per plane these issues are a real buy and, as static display models, will give the other players a run for their money. I'm not saying they're at the same level as Corgi, Gemini or Hobby Master, they're not, but I've placed two of them against similar issues from different manufacturers and from two feet away you'd have a difficult time picking out the diecast choice. I ordered these four as a test, and they passed with a B+. I've got my order in for one each of the eight more issues offered. As an aside, MRC puts a little catalogue of the Easy Models offered in the package and there are 100 different liveries available:

25 Bf 109 varient
10 Spitfire
10 Hurricanes
10 P-4os
5 P-51s
5 P-47s
5 F4U-1s
5 F4U-4s
5 F4Fs
5 F6Fs
5 FW 190Ds
5 MiG-3s
5 Yak-3s

I like what I see and I'll get many more. The diecast boys better start CYAing.
