Unhappy Who is the copycat?

I could not help to notice that Corgi has reproduced some models already covered by Easy Models.I really think that pays the compliment to Easy Models foresight in giving a great range. Also what waste of effort by Corgi who could do more to give more choice of aircraft.

Re: Who is the copycat?

What would really surprise you is that 3 of the 5 P-51Bs made by Eagles International will also be made by Corgi in 1/72 scale...

Re: Who is the copycat?

Well, as much as I admire both Easy Model and Eagles Int., I'm not really interested in their product. While Easy Model's price point and selection is great, and Eagles International's details and accuracy are second to none, I'd rather have something from the Aviation Archive that depicts the same thing.
While both of the other lines have their fans, they both have left me waiting for Corgi to do something exactly like what they've done. I don't imagine I'm alone in that outlook.

Question Re: Who is the copycat?

I agree that some of us generally stick with one scale. That being the case it doesn't really matter if the plane is covered by someone else in another scale.

I reckon we need to determine who now makes the best 1/72 Mustang. Up to now my impression from the forum has been that Dragon is tops. Is Gemini Aces better?

Re: Who is the copycat?

Gemini make the best (and at this point, only) P-51B/C. Dragon make the best P-51D. Can't really compare the two.

Putting aside that they are different versions......I feel the Dragon P-51 is still the best. With GeminiAces right on it's tail.

Angry Re: Who is the copycat?

Sorry Lads but I think you don,t get the point of this thread. I did not say anything about scale so lets not go there.

For those again I was making a issue that it seemed Corgi was making copys of Easy Models when they should go for more different types. This would give us choice.
