Re: Who is the copycat?

I never thought of it that way Starman, as that may be the case. As for Skunky, I was shocked to say the least. That gold one is heading his way after all.

I can take umbrage, I can take the cake, I can take the A-Train, I can take two and call me in the morning, but I cannot take this sitting down. Now, if you'll excuse me, I'm going to take five.

Cool Re: Who is the copycat?

Simple answer here. Pardon if I am parroting previous comments, but Corgi is obviously noticing an interest level in the Easy model subjects. I have most of the EM line and they are nice but... I will take a limited run Corgi AA series in a heartbeat over the EM version. As price point is not so much of concern to me and quality and rarity are high on my agenda.
As to the Eagles Intl. question it's ALL about scale! Corgi again sees a market for those particular subjects and rightfully so, they are famous birds. I prefer to collect 72nd myself, though I do have 3 of the Eagles P-51's I will certainly get at least some of the Corgi versions and sell/trade the Eagle models. In short I don’t think of it as "copy cat" as much as smart business and good market placement! More choices are always welcome!

Re: Who is the copycat?

I've read through these threads, and, personally, I do not care one way or another if someone is "copying" someone else. I only have a few Easymodels, mostly cause they seem pretty well done, and I like the price.

Re: Who is the copycat?

I have a question; Does it really matter if a company copies another Like I always say............I like choice And one company might make a copy, BUT, do it better.

One example - I'm waiting to buy anymore Hellcats until I see if Hobby Master's is better than Dragons.

Another example - Everyone and his brother is doing a George Bush Avenger. I'll buy the one I feel is best executed.

Choice, I love choice

Thumbs up Re: Who is the copycat?

Hi Gang,
Well I have gone on the edge of the unervise on this thread and I am glad so many of you guy,s are throwing me life line,s. Just please make sure the rocks are not so big!. Anyway what I wanted to say is that I really would like Corgi to take the lead more on the models we have not seen yet.Easy Models cover a gap as dose IXO < I can,t believe I said that> and so we do get choice. Then when Easy Model sales go down they may look at thier range and go a new direction. I would like to see them take on the 1/72 Jet s, maybe a Viggen in that splinter camo.

I have to admit that EM does get to be a little more bold in thier choices. I am assuming it is less of an investment as they are made of plastic. Maybe Corgi will see a scheme that is nice and do it , but most Corgi choices are made (I would assume 1-2yrs before they come out)
At times EM has made me wish I collected Plastic, but then the walls would be even more crowded. I have picked up some nice Me-109G's for my son, that I wish someone would do in Diecast.

PS. Glad to see you haven't left us. Everybody has an opinion, and all are welcome. If everybody thought the same way, there would be no reason to have a forum to communicate. Looking forward to hearing you input in the future.

Re: Who is the copycat?

So YY,

I don't collect EZModels. When you say copycat, are you referring to aircraft or liveries?

No to put words in anyones mouth, but I think the original post was how Corgi is copying EM's liveries.
