Re: Great Models

The answer is, this plane was a borrowed mount. No kill markings transferred yet.

Re: Great Models

Received my 1st 1:48 scale Eagles Internationals P-51B Shangri-La, and all I can say is WOW......... She sits and looks great on my dresser, and the quality is superior. I was hesitant on buying one, but I asked Kingpin for his comments on the quality of the piece, and with his feedback I was sold. I'm glad I did, and
will be looking forward to the Ding Hao when money permits.....

Re: Great Models

O.K., men,you have convinced me that I must have one of these, which will be the Tex Hill A/C to join my C1 AVG P40.....Now the question: the only "flaw" I see on the model is the slightly exaggerated wingroot/radiator gap.Is there anything else I have missed on what looks like a beautiful piece of work?

That is the most noticeable flaw on an otherwise beautiful model. The fit at the wing root isn't spectacular, but not awful; but many, many models have this common problem. Enjoy it! I have this one, also displayed next to the C1 AVG Tomahawk.

The tailwheel's not the best-- it's a bit spartan. To me, the worst aspect of this otherwise beautiful model is the overdone machine gun exhaust on the top wings. I've heard this can be removed with solvent but I am not going near it.

THE Mustang to own in 1/48.

Re: Great Models

Thanks for the info........I'll give Sally@Aikins a call in a couple of weeks.Reading about Tex Hill and the 23rd,I found that both his P51A and his P51B were referred to as "Bullfrog",a nickname they shared with his wife,Maisie. I've tried a lot of nicknames on my wife over the years, but "BULLFROG"????????

Thumbs up Re: Great Models

Got my first EI Mustang yesterday courtesy of flyXwire! It's definitely worth every penny. The one I got is almost perfect (no such thing as perfect): minimal wing root and radiator housing gap, the main landing gears fit solidly and they're aligned with each other, the tail wheel is neither too loose or too tight. Here are pics:

Thanks Joey!

Re: Great Models

VAGM,

Great pics of that Stang....... Been staring at the Ding Hao, but I may have to contact my seller and see if they can get the INA that you have.

Mike
