Thumbs up Aces A/C for El's P-47

Hello Everyone,

In my humble opinion...Here is my lineup for El's upcoming P-47 Lineup on the ace's aircraft in no particular order......

1) Hubert Zemke

2) Francis Gabreski

3) Fred Christiansen........Miss Fire

4) Donald Blakeslee........(With 4th Fighter Group, cannot believe he has been overlooked in the modeling world)

5) Robert S. Johnson

6) Gerald Johnson

7) Walker "Bud" Mahurin

8) Walter Beckham.......Demon Decon

How is that for a starter list.......The only problem is that most of the famous aces were with the 56th Fighter Group, so I don't kbnow how that will wash out with EI......But I like to collect the aces aircraft and don't care that mush about the markings.......

What does everyone think......Any additions ??

Re: Aces A/C for El's P-47

I worked on the restoration of this A/C so I really want to see this one done.

I can take umbrage, I can take the cake, I can take the A-Train, I can take two and call me in the morning, but I cannot take this sitting down. Now, if you'll excuse me, I'm going to take five.

A Robert Johnson P-47 is long over due....I would like to see that one made.

Ditto that -- I wanted the Mule to do one for a while now.... EI would be the ultimate homage. Bring it on! (Even if FM beats you to the Razorback punch please...)

I think that might be David Schilling's Aircraft.......Researching the serial number now....... Yeah, Schilling is a great pick.

A great lists of "Wolfpack ACES" begging to be made that's for sure! I'm in.

Making a really good razorback Thunderbolt would be a huge money maker! How could it miss?

Well boys... I appreciate your optimism, but don't count your chicks before the eggs hatch.

I want to be wrong, but I really do not think OMI / EI will ever do this mold.

Re: Aces A/C for El's P-47

The razorback P-47D is the most logical choice to be made after the P-51B in my opinion (even though I would prefer the Airacobra). EI is telling me that they wish they never got into the business in the first place if they don't do this model! Unbelievable - since they make the best 1/48 diecast model (their Mustang) in the world!
