Hello everybody.

I've just bought the first P-51 for my 1/48 collection. Since I never liked the P-51Ds by FM/A, I bought the highly reccommended P-51B from Eagles International ( RAF 315 Polish Squadron ).
I paid US$ 79 for it... and then a whopping US$ 59 to have it sent from the US to my home in The Netherlands. Even with a very favourable euro to dollar exchange rate right now, that still is a lot of money !

Since I would rather spend my cash on models rahter than on P&P, would any of you know any shops / dealers that sell EI ( and Carousel 1 ) in Europe ??

Hi there,

I've never seen EI over here. You might find em in England, but shipping is almost as bad. Carousel 1 is available here.

Hi Saeta (arrow I think ?) welcome. EI are availablle in the UK but are very expensive when you add approx 50% more when converting Sterling to Euro (I know) even without shipping which is also charged in Sterling. Expensive business this collecting!!

I will try to pest my local ( but rather large ) diecast shop into becoming the first EI dealer in Europe...

By the way, funny how the currency exchange goes. I have been wanting to buy a 1/72 Corgi Swordfish for my brother, and I see that they all cost "the same" : 39 pounds in the UK, 39 Euros in the Continent, and 39 dollars in the US !

Since you say that C1 has dealers in continental europe, would you let me know who they are ? I have looked for them in the web since I saw your reply, but found none ( but lots in the US and UK, which is no good for cost purposes... ). I see you are based in Germany. Any nice shops there ? I travel to various parts of Germany frequently so might pop in and buy them personally if I can.

I am potentially after the 1:48 Fw-190D and a Wildcat

Hi Saeta,

try microjoy.de The owner is a buddy of mine. His store is located in my hometown. He has the C1 WWI line and is possibly able to get the WWII line. I am going to ask the next time I see him.

Other than that modelplaza.nl has C1, too. But the prices a pretty ourageous

Unfortunately I do not know any more shops carrying C1 since I mostly stick to FM/A.

I have been OK with the exchange rate since we get $2 for a £1 this way I can buy in the US get it shipped for less money than in Europe.(Normally in the UK we get the short end of the stick in terms of pricing) say an FM 1/48 goes for say $70 but in europe 70 Euros + shippng .But then again HM 1/72 in the US can be $30 in the UK I can get the same model for occasionally £15. Swings and roundabouts I guess.
