Re: Patty Ann P-51 Photoshop style

Hello! I'm new to posting here, but I've been silently watching for quite some time. Just had to say you guys are great, and your photos and comments have helped me make several diecast purchases in the past. Patty Ann II being the most recent one. I'm mainly a 1/48 collector and Franklin Mint rules the roost right now, but after seeing photos of EI's stuff -- man, I don't see myself going back to FM anytime soon, especially with the price hike. I'd rather put out the extra ten, twenty bucks and get a better piece of diecast.

Anyway, Patty Ann II should arrive at my door next week and I can't wait!! I'm really looking forward to the EI's Blackwidow and T'bolts. But until then I may be forced to buy my first Carousel 1 FW-D. If my wallet will open that way.

How much assembly is required with the EI Patty Ann?

Thanks folks!

Re: Patty Ann P-51 Photoshop style

Welcome to the forum Snoopy. It's really easy to put Patty Ann together...All you do is put the wings on her and tighten the screws and you done.
Oh ...and you have to put on the canopy...Easy stuff...EI is a great way to go and Carousel is getting up there as well...I like the Dora they make....one of the best...I have pictures posted on the forum of her too.
Enjoy your stay at the Model Hanger.

Hi SnoopyAce, welcome! It's great to have another 1/48 collector with us (we are a minority here, but growing!).

You'll love Patty Ann II. It'll only take a couple of minutes to assemble, no glue required. It's one of my favorite models, but man, you have to get the Carousel Dora, I recommend the "Yellow 10" (D-13). Everyone loves that one. Read the older threads on the forum, you'll see what I mean. And I highly recommend PappyB's site, Diecast Ace, for excellent reviews and pictures of all kinds of models (including the C1 D-13).

Get ready to spend more money... Resistance is futile.

Thanks guys! Can't wait for Patty Ann to fly in. Assembly sound like a breeze. I'm going to head over to the Carousel 1 forum right now. And *gasp* I just saw somebody mentioned the FM Wildcats were in. Must have a look there too.

You have no idea how many times I've been tempted to go 1/72 and 1/32 scale. If I had, I'd be broke by now. Luckily there hasn't been much choice in 1/48 manufacturers... until recently. I ain't complaining though. With competition brings more choices and better quality. That, and I just like the bigger scale... 1/32 may get me one day, but not right now.

I THINK I'm set to get C1's "Red 4" next month. It seems to be calling my name. SnooooOOOooopyAcceee!! COooOOme Hither!!! What's the story on "Red 4" anyway. Somebody have a link to that? I'd appreciate it.

Here is the link you need Snoopy. It has Mark's terrific pictures and lots of discussion about the model. I own it and I love it. It has the WOW! factor.

Focke-Wulf Fw190D-11 "Red 4"

Steer clear from Cardinal. He will talk you into buying this model before you can say "Red 4".

Hey not fair Elmer! I'm not that bad and am now also an ardent fan of the Gotz 'Yellow 10' - although I never thought it possible I think 'Yellow 10' may just have the edge on Red 4, on the other hand perhaps not ... what the heck they're both terrific .

BTW welcome Snoopy Ace - your quest for diecast is only just beginning. Remember you must find the one diecast to rule them all ...
