Re: The dope on the Texan

I don't care if this product takes 5 years.

I do. Some of us old geezers may not have much more time to enjoy the model.

Re: The dope on the Texan

I'm waiting for the Reporter vairant of Eagles projected P-61. I don't care if this product takes 5 years. It will be a classic.

That's a long 5 years to wait for that...Some of us can't wait for 5yrs.

Understood. My point was, I can wait 5 years if the alternatives are A) it's either a rushed production or B) it's never coming out.

To put it another way, if you've got a substandard model on your shelf, it doesn't matter that you were able to buy it this year. And if in 5 years you have a great piece of double engined wonder in your display case, the fact that it took awhile will mean nothing.

If we're concerned that we're getting older and may not make the release date, then OK, I see your point.

Re: The dope on the Texan

I would hate to wait 5 years for the A-26 and P-61, but if that meant having them done right, I would consider it.

If one is not here to see the release date, I suppose that at that point, one really would not care about it too much!

Re: The dope on the Texan

OMI now has the first Texans listed as due late July. Boy, this wait is a tough one.

Re: The dope on the Texan

Now it is August. And it looks like retail is going back up to $93.95 (Check out OMI's web-site).

If the price has gone up to that extent I'll have to pass on future EI acquisitions. (TFM still has them listed for pre-order at the 'normal' price.)

In my opinion this will make them 'over-priced', no matter how good they are . (I've also never particularly liked the practice of 'boosting' the price of items that have been in stock for some time .)
