Re: Which liveries interest you the most?

Are any of them a 1/48th scale A-20, A-26 or P-61? Just some wishful thinking.

Re: Which liveries interest you the most?

P-47 Razorback: I'd love to see one in natural metal. Something from the 78th FG (love the checkerboard) or 56th FG would be great. D-Day stripes would also be great - I am a s*cker for D-Day stripes!

P-61: A black one with an awsome nose art image (See previous HM thread) and an olive drab version (again see HM thread).

Typhoon: Anything previously pictured so far in this thread. Don't know how Corgi is managing to offer so many lame schemes with all the real great ones to choose from!

Re: Which liveries interest you the most?

We currently have three twin-engined aircraft in the works. Two of which are already in motion towards prototyping.

Thanks Mark. So glad to hear this news.

I also applaud your participation in this forum. What you read is as important as what you write.

I hope you will consider Japanese planes at some point. Historically, Japanese models, books, and diecasts have not fared very well in the USA. Maybe Eagles could change that. A Ki-61 Tony with the Eagles International treatment would create a huge buzz in the diecast community. That plane had many exciting markings and finishes and would inspire established collectors to sit one next to their other high performance fighters.

If the Tony "took off" then that would be a decent proof of concept for a few other Japanese subjects-- once the Tony's in someone's collection, they will be inclined to add a few more of that nationality.

BTW I love your Patty Ann Mustang. Great work.

Re: Which liveries interest you the most?

Ara, I think that down the road some of those aircraft could be great. So far I have all of the Eagles P-51's, and I preordered three of the T-6's from mark. Now for the P-47's, P-61's, typhoon's, and whatever else they have. Eagles and GMP are among the top companies on my list. With Hobbymaster, they make up my top three.

Re: Which liveries interest you the most?

Hey Mustangdriver,

I checked out your game room pics (in another thread) and I am impressed. One of your displays looks like it honors a WWII vet. Good going.

If I had a slightly bigger house, I'd also have such a room. You must love sitting down there, among "friends" as it were. A great, great place. If you are into old time radio let me know. Although I am 41, I find listening to radio stories from the 1940's and '50's a great relaxer. The flavor of the old airwaves goes well with WWII era aircraft and vintage photos. I enjoy the Suspense radio series, especially when I paint.

Congrats on owning all the Eagles Int'l P-51's! We need more guys like you. Here's another P-51 for you to look at, a 1/48 scale Tamiya kit. It was the last scale model I made before focusing on painting and writing. It's my attempt at one of Tex Hill's mounts.

Re: Which liveries interest you the most?

Very nice job on the Tex Hill P 51, Ara! I, and I'm sure lots of others on this forum, have a signed picture of Tex standing on the wing of that very plane.

Re: Which liveries interest you the most?

Thanks Captain Eddie. The old photo of Tex on the wing of his plane has been an inspiration for 30 years.

Back to Eagles International discussion. I'm wondering if one of their in development twin engined models is a Bf 110?

My reasoning:
  • Twin engined, but still relatively small (thus more affordable)
  • No one talks about a diecast 110 in 1/48... at least, I don't hear anything upcoming.
  • The versions are varied and interesting.
  • Anyone who enjoys Luftwaffe a/c would enjoy an Eagles Int'l rendering.
  • A 110 would make a great shoot 'em up with EI's current Stangs.

Well, you've got two out of three.

I was hoping that we could get a couple of adversarial aircraft in to production this year, but currently there are no signs of this being possible. We were going to produce the Fw190D-9 but Carousel beat us to the punch, and that may be for the better as Carousel has inspired us to raise our game.

Re: Which liveries interest you the most?

If I guessed A-20 and P-61 would you tell me if I was right, or when we might see them? Have I metioned how much I love you guys?

Well if one is a P-61 BlackWidow count me in for that one
I'm tired of only having a plastic model of one.
