Re: Exclusive "Old Crow" P-51??????

Let me make it patently clear Harry - YES!

Would it be possible to have the signature on the actual aircraft? I know it may be logistically difficult to get Bud Anderson to sign 500 die-cast models, but it may be possible to design a 'panel' that could be signed and fitted to the model in an appropriate place ...

Unfortunately, adding a painted nose art panel or something like it would probably require additional tooling, which would increase the price beyond what any regular customer would be willing to pay.. My suggestion of a numbered and signed certificate is a cheaper and easier method to add a little more collectibility/significance to the piece (I personally think EI should have done numbered certificates with all of its releases, but that's just me) and it would be much easier for Mr. Anderson to sign 500 certs rather than 500 pieces of plastic or 500 airplanes..

As I stated in my original post, this is just an idea... It doesn't mean it is going to happen... But, I have spoken with EI about doing something like this and if I get enough support behind the idea, it might be possible.....

Cracking good idea Cardo, I am with you all the way on that one.

Re: Exclusive "Old Crow" P-51??????

Yes I'd get it, but one thing I'd like to make sure is that it was the premade P-51B model rather than the kit form. I backed out of the original EI release for the Gentile since I prefer models to be as complete as can be requiring as little assembly as humanly possible. This goes into what I call boxability, the ability to put the thing away with minimum fuss and disassembly, which over time can result in numerous lost fiddly bits. But let me know when this will go, I've always admired Bud Anderson, and the plane you'd release was featured in the original episode of History Channel's Dogfight show.

I believe Eagles has dumped the partial assembly the first couple of models required for good...

Cool Re: Exclusive "Old Crow" P-51??????

I'd be interested if the price point stays where you suggest. The only problem I have is that all my collection is 1:72 with the excepition of three 1:32 scale planes.

Re: Exclusive "Old Crow" P-51??????

I have an idea and I wanted to get other collectors feedback..

Would anyone be interested in an Eagles International exclusive (limited to 500 pieces) "Old Crow" 1/48 P-51B with the added bonus of a numbered certificate, and each certificate personally signed by Bud Anderson???
(Price would be approx $85-90 US)

I know that I would love to have something like this and I think this would be a HUGE addition to anyone's collection..

Hell yeah pilgrim!! And... with invasion stripes and the Malcom Hood Just like this beauty

Re: Exclusive "Old Crow" P-51??????

I was going to buy one, but now I am going to wait until I see if this one comes out. I'd rather have this.

That's affirmative.
Those first models are the only and last partial assembly models to be produced by OMI.

Mustang,
It may be A LONG TIME before this idea is realized IF EVER.. I just had an idea and wanted to see what people thought about it.. In all reality, I would have to get atleast 300 preorders for this plane before Eagles will consider making it and I was told that since Mr. Anderson is getting up there in years, he might not be up to signing 500 certificates.. So this might be a lost cause..
