Re: Here's a little teaser for you.

Shawn,
At the risk of completely hijacking the thread, the question to be asked of Harry is does he prefer a razorback P-47 or Lindsey Lohan back when she still had a figure?

Lindsey for instant gratification, the P-47 for the long term...

I'd take a nice Gabby Bubbletop tbolt any way I can get it..

Not too instant I hope. Hate to have her giggle and hiccup right after her engine gets going!

I like jugs anyway I can get 'em too. Why won't anybody make an R.S. Johnson jug?

Leigh-Mallory and his big wings! Might as well stay on the ground for all the use they are!

I like both equally !

Your not the only one, I prefer the P-47 Razorbacks over the P-51 Mustang. So much so, that I only have two of Dragon's P-51s and seven of thier P-47s.
This is nice, like their P-51Bs. I just dont have the room or money for either.
- Shawn

On the one hand, I own 3 Dragon's P47 (M/D/D-Razorback) for only one Dragon's F6D. On the other I have 2 P51B from Eagle Intl.

Poor Shawn, no Eagle's birds ! How awful !

Re: Here's a little teaser for you.

Put me in the '51 camp. It's a good thing the '47 could absorb so much punishment since it took a great deal by not being able to outfly a 190 or 109. (I said outfly, not outdive). The Mustang didn't have to be so tough- it simply flew out of harm's way!

Dunno about that -- I've read several pilot accounts (from both axis and allied perspectives) where Jug pilots outflew both the 109 and 190... it's all about the pilot, not the plane

That is right, it is the man, not the machine.

I can take umbrage, I can take the cake, I can take the A-Train, I can take two and call me in the morning, but I cannot take this sitting down. Now, if you'll excuse me, I'm going to take five.

Re: Here's a little teaser for you.

I talked to Richard at OMI, he said that all current and future models are expected to be sold at the new prices.

Ok ya got me- I was only trying to stir up a little conversation. But if I remember my history, between the to aircraft in question, the P-51 had a higher number of air-to-air kills than the P-47 even though the Mustang did not show up in appreciable numbers until 1943 while the T'bolt was around from the beginning.
