Yes overdone by far. As a T-6 owner I can say"WTF?"

I can take umbrage, I can take the cake, I can take the A-Train, I can take two and call me in the morning, but I cannot take this sitting down. Now, if you'll excuse me, I'm going to take five.

Re: Eagles Texan??

If you guys want to see a couple of good pics of what the silver one actually looks like, go here.. The only difference between this plane and the actual production plane is that the graphics are applied/stickers..

Re: Eagles Texan ** UPDATED WITH PICTURES **

Attached is a picture of an T-6 Texan I took during an Air Show here in Colorado Springs, CO. We had a great showing of the T-6 Texan. Even in this photo, you can see some of the riveting. I will check my library of photos to confirm the actual level of visible riveting on some of the other T-6s that participate in this Air Show. I am waiting the At-6 using in Forward Air Controller duties in Korea.

Re: Eagles Texan ** UPDATED WITH PICTURES **

Before some of us decide to throw Eagles Int./OMI under the bus, maybe we should step back and take a breath...

What many people don't know is that the heart of Eagles/OMI is ONE MAN.. His name is Richard.. He isn't a huge manufacturing monopoly like Hobby Master and some others, he is just ONE MAN.. He loves aviation dearly and invests his own time and money to make these happen.. He also has no financial backers or investors, so when tooling changes or problems arise, the money comes out of his pocket.. Sure, the 1st 2 Texans weren't exactly what we all expected, but the 1st Mustang had issues also, and most of those were worked out eventually.. I can only expect these to get better in the later releases and I know Richard is working to improve these as we speak..
Sometimes we need to show a little patience and not have such high expectations right off the bat..

My 2 cents....

No flame suit here. I think I come across more harsh than I mean to sound. I am thrilled that they did a T-6, but I do have issues with the rivets. Other than that it looks great. I love E.I. and hope to see them do a P-61.

Is it just a question of overdone rivets? I am not seeing other issues (well... possibly a bit sloppy anti-glare panel painting). What did we expect that OMI did not deliver?

BTW, Harry, what issues (other than fit) did/does Shangri-La have that was worked out by later releases? I only have Shangri-La and Patty Ann II, so I am curious what issues these models have that later releases do not.

The rivets are the main complaint w/ unpainted pilots just about the only other thing I have heard so far on the Texan.. The 1st Mustang had fit fuselage/wing fit problems (later issues are preassembled), propeller problems, antenna/ pitot tubes replaced with metal because the plastic ones were just too fragile and broke easily.

The good thing is that the Texan seems to be selling well, so future releases are pretty much guaranteed.. Fortunately, most of the general public aren't as discriminating as we are..

And, Richard is now taking orders for custom painted Texans/Harvards..
