Re: Eagles Texan??

Check Wings and Wheels, Pappy.

Yeah, I did that and was a bit relieved... I thought not too long ago Eagles slashed prices to be more competitive... so the new higher prices on OMI surprised me.

Re: Eagles Texan??

I really thought the Texans would arrive with loads of fanfare, advertising on OMI's and EI's web-sites, promotions, etc. OMI has not put up pictures... anywhere! Lost camera or no... I am mystified that OMI is not pushing this product here, there, or anywhere with pictures, announcements, specials, etc. Mark is being quiet. I don't get the marketing strategy.

Re: Eagles Texan??

They're just a little overwhelmed right now. I talked to Mark again today. He said that he's borrowed a camera and is going to shoot them tonight.

Re: Eagles Texan??

The Texan watch continues... now spotted at Aiken's: 10101 and 10102 now in stock! I guess these models really do exist!

I know I am scrapping the bottom of the barrel for news about EI's latest, but hey... still no pictures and no word from OMI other than "now shipping." So, some news is better than none.

This statement implies that they're also "not too good looking" either ...

Re: Eagles Texan??

I've just had a look at the pictures posted on the Mule's sight - the only comment I'll make is that I'm glad I cancelled my pre-order as these don't appear to be near the standard set with the EI P51B/C range . To say I'm disappointed would be an understatement (at least I take comfort in the fact that I have the superb HobbyMaster 1/72 'Bavarian'/Luftwaffe version ).

(I'm also curious as to what gives with the pilots - did someone forget to paint them ...?

Does explain the lack of publicity though...

In all fairness, Martin's pics really don't do the Texan justice.. The NMF Texan looks much better in person, but I can't say why the pilots weren't painted..

They're pale from ground looping... as the Texan was infamous for.

Please elaborate Cardo... what are you seeing that disappoints?

These are small pics on the TFM site and it is a bit difficult to judge based on this. I am wondering about the size of the rivet holes (divots?); possibly overdone?
