Re: Dragon 1/72 Sherman 60257 in stock!

I just brought the next two shermans; 257 and 259, and I can tell you they look better in person then the photos. The Photos are always great, but in real lighting the colors are richer and the shadows add more excitement to the product,

How can you have the 259 as it has just been announced by Dragon and is a December release? Do you mean 257 and 258?

Re: Dragon 1/72 Sherman 60257 in stock!

I got my 1/72 Battling Bitch and all I can say is "wow!" The detail is superb! This is one of their best, in my opinion. While most of Dragon's tanks have tools on them, the shovel on the back left side of this model has some nice "air" under the blade, allowing a really nice 3D look. I also got the Jagdpanzer IV L/48 model 60226. Another stunning vehicle from Dragon. I have the Limited Edition, Johann Huber Jagdpanzer, but this new one, as well as all the other Jagdpanzer IVs, is more detailed. These things get better and better. Also, this is only one of 3 or 4 Dragon models, excluding any specials, that has the "gun metal" color to the barrel, which is a nice touch. The others are 2 early Panthers, and the new L/70 60239. Anyway, I can't stop buying these things!

Yeah, you're right should be 258.

Also why is it some Dragon Armor items seem to have more metal. I've taken all my tanks off and out of their displays. And these Shermans feel like there is little or metal.

I wonder what the defintion of a Diecast is.

Most of the new ones just have a weight inside.....take the turret off and you can see it

Phew, thought I had lost out on a Sherman then! Thanks sgt. Most of the armor range now has a small strip just in the main body of the tank, but how the heck that Dragon can now call them diecast beats me. Remove the turret by spinning it and take a peek like Planenuts says.

However, they are well detailed, look excellent and just about worth the money, but anymore rises in price and I would have to question that.

These things are jems. If they keep making them look this good I really don't care much how much metal is in them, in my opinion.

I agree. They look no different sitting on that display shelf in all plastic than they would in all diecast. Their prices might have gone higher, but I doubt many here would build a plastic kit, paint and weather it and then sell it for as cheap as Dragon does.

RE: Metal/Plastic - Plastic carries more detail. Dragon is going for more detail, therefore you get more plastic. Personally, I'll take that compromise.
