How do you keep, store, or display?

How do you guys keep, store or display the items you have collected? Do you leave them in the original boxes, plastic container? Do you remove them completely? Put them is a display wall frame of some sort?

Re: How do you keep, store, or display?

I take my models out of the packaging and display them, most of them in two glass cabinets.

Couple of Ikea Detolf cabinets and any open space in the house. I don't believe in leaving stuff in boxes, I want to hold them on occasion and compare 1 to another, etc.

Re: How do you keep, store, or display?

I have a display shelf that all of my 1:72 scale diecast tanks and vehicles go on. I take them all out of the box and display case.

Re: How do you keep, store, or display?

As I don't have time at home to look at them, they stay in the box until I take 2 new ones to work every week to put on my desk. When the computer is being slow I take a good look at them.

Re: How do you keep, store, or display?

I keep them in the boxes, never removing them. I will sometimes buy two for those I want to display. The displayed items are in a cabinet. I do the same with the aircraft.

There are two reasons I do this: First, I’ve had some experience selling off a 1/43 scale BBR collection that I had for 20+ years that was mint boxed. If you are a young stud, 20 years from now you’ll reap the benefits. Second, I just don’t have the space to store the boxes and display the tanks in the way they should be or I would like them to be.

Just throw out the boxes like I do, LOL.

I take them out of the box. I throw away the box I put them on the shelves that I have all around my computer room. I sit and enjoy my planes. I will never sell them.

Re: How do you keep, store, or display?

I leave mine in the box, since the vast majority of what I collect is 1/72 armor - CDC, Dragon, Forces of Valor, Admiral, etc. These already can be seen through the display window. I know that you can only see one side of the tank, but that is ok with me. I do occasionally take them out and admire them. I display them in a large shelved area. These will be passed down to my children, who will probably sell them for $3.00 each in a garage sale. O well.
