Re: Dragon 1:35 Heavy Mortar "Thor"

Interesting...I guess...but I think the first plain ol' Panzer Grey Loki was far and away the most attractive of this series...

Re: Dragon 1:35 Heavy Mortar "Thor"

Now this particular scheme is the best so far, in my opinion.

Question Re: Dragon 1:35 Heavy Mortar "Thor"

What are peoples overall opinions on these 1/35 Heavy Mortars ?

I ask because I have a few of the 61009's in stock but it seems that there is no interest in them, is it the price, camo scheme or the fact its a mortar?

Due to the above question, my dilema is, should I order some of these new 61013 Mortars or just give them a miss (I must admit, I do like the camo scheme )

The question is.......will it be a good seller ?

I have both of those out now. Picked up the last one for $69.95. "Thor" looks nice too.

Dragon's heavy mortars are sitting in Singapore's hobby shops collecting dust. Last I saw it at the local Dragon distributor about 2 weeks ago, the price was slashed. Can't recall exactly how much it is now selling for. Strong indication that it is not well received over here because the lady at the shop kept urging me to purchase it whenever I am there.

Honestly, I am pretty disappointed that Dragon is releasing another heavy mortar. Was hoping they can expand their range of 1/35 Tigers and Panthers into other AFVs.

Re: Dragon 1:35 Heavy Mortar "Thor"

The next one should be "Odin" or "Adam" or "Eva", That makes a total of 6 which were actually built by the Germans

So maybe we'll also get the railway transporter and amunition carriers

I wonder if they will do the "Leopold Railway Gun", now that would be interesting.

Re: Dragon 1:35 Heavy Mortar "Thor"

Captain Shrapnel,
Speaking for myself, I chose to pass on this series because I think that when the pieces start to get this big the amount of plastic Dragon uses really betrays the impact of the model. The smaller 1/72 and even the 1/35 tanks have enough small hinges, hatches, lights and tools to break up their surfaces and cast shadows so that the plastic isn't as noticeable as on the big heavy mortars. I was very excited about Loki when it was first announced and fully planned on getting one, but passed on it after I was able to see it in person. Again, I am only speaking for myself, but the closest I ever came to this set came and went with Loki...

Re: Dragon 1:35 Heavy Mortar "Thor"

Thanks for the replies

I think the best thing to do is to get a few on order to go with the 61009 and 61012 I have already, and you never know, someone might buy all three at once
