New 1/72 StuH.42 and Sd.Kfz.251/10

Last edited by A3driver : 05-07-2008 at 08:22 PM. Reason: Typo in subject line
Announced on the Dragon Models USA website for July 2008:

60358 10.5cm StuH.42 Ausf.G Ardennes 1944

60301 Sd.Kfz.251/10 Ausf.D with 3.7cm PaK 36, Unidentified Unit, Eastern Front 1943

I'll definitely have to get me one of those Sturmhaubitzen...

The StuH42 looks very good! However, I will skip on the 251, I have a bunch already.
I do wonder when some new stuff will be announced, as opposed to repaints. I seem to remember a Brumbar in a catalog a fews years ago, now that would be nice.

I think I'll stick with the first StuH 42 and skip the new SdKfz 251 - I have too many already. I don't know whether I like the idea of a SP 105mm gun in ambush camouflage

I never quite liked an AFV without a turret, but I might well make an exception this time round. The StuH 42 in ambush camo looks very nice. Will pass on the SdKfz. Not a fan of German of German trop carriers.

I only have a small armor collection, but that StuH.42 looks pretty tempting. Paint scheme looks good along with some nice looking detail.

Brewster Buffalo, Hawk 75A, Fokker D.XXI, Polikarpov I-16, Fiat G.50, Macchi C. 200, PZL P.11c, Fieseler Fi 156 Storch ,,,, now those are real planes.

Re: New 1/71 StuH.42 and Sd.Kfz.251/10

Just picked up the white Sd.Kfz.251/10 along with the Wiking one. Both are excellent. One thing I really hate though is when Dragon simply puts "unidentified unit" on the box. Seems like they were too lazy to do a bit of extra research.

I think they are doing this on purpose since when it comes to German armor Dragon puts "unidentified" label on Waffen SS units.

I might be wrong, though.

Sergey

They do have models of various vehicles that belonged to Waffen SS units and those are labeled on the box as being from LAH or Das Reich or Wiking or Totenkopf. They just don't put the initials "SS" on the box.
