Dragon Releases

On the Dragonmodelsusa.com website, it now list the latest stug and tiger 1 as delieverd. It also show the Sherman diorama and Humvee as due this month as well. This means no models are currently showing as due in May or beyond. I wonder if they are tooling up for some new models. Has anyone seen the DML catalog that was just released. The 1/72 kits in that may give an indication as to the future.

Re: Dragon Releases

Thanks for the info Juneau1. I have seen pictures of the Sherman diorama and I have to say that I am not terribly impressed. I was a big fan of Dragon's 1:72 dioramas. Personally, I feel that their standards have dropped. Their earlier ones, many which came with figures, were much much better. I found that they did not put in much effort in developing the last few dioramas. I don't mind paying more for a nice, realistic diorama, like the one with US rangers and landing craft or the Challenger desert version with two British troopers.

As for their 1:72 armour vehicles, it's disappointing to see them releasing Stugs and Tigers one after another. There's already an overdose of German tanks. I would like to see Dragon balance their collection with some Allied and Italian tanks in 1:72 scale.

Re: Dragon Releases

I don't mind the Stug III releases, as they have only released three of them so far. However, the tigers are getting a little old.

That's good news. I didn't think we'd see the StuG III or Tiger I for another month...or two...or three. And I agree with Paladin wholeheartedly: Cyber-Hobby/Dragon Armor dios were neat. Lately, though, their floor sweepings make me choke.

If enthusiastic armor collectors like Paladin and I are retching over Dragon’s latest dios, something’s wrong. Something’s seriously wrong. Honestly, if our beloved overstuffed lizard doesn’t get its act together toot sweet, it might lose a bunch of long-time collectors.

Re: Dragon Releases

How about a MRAP in 1/72 or a Stryker ?

You're not alone Gort...laughed myself silly too when I saw Legio's post.

Well, this is one of the reasons why I joined the forum. While we are serious collectors, there's never a shortage of humour around.

Since Dragon is a Hong Kong company, maybe I should speak to them in Cantonese. Perhaps they might listen. Haha!

Seriously, like Juneau, I'm also hoping that Dragon is tooling for some new models in the near future.
