Limited Edition models

I'm about to receive my very first L.E. models (Desperate defense #60253 and panther G #60322) and was wondering if there worth it? I picked them up for $80 on e-bay.

Whats the general consensus on dragon L.E. models?

Re: Limited Edition models

Well, very few Dragon models are truly limited. Only DX ones and some of the Cyber-Hobby (Wittmann, Carius, Battle of the Bulge King Tigers, and a few other Tiger Is) come to mind. The rest are usually being re-released as regular editions wihtout "special packaging" or numbered card or are being blown at greatly reduced prices due to the lack of demand.

I think that the King Tiger is a good buy despite some mistakes on the model itself, but Panther not so much.

Regards,

Sergey

Re: Limited Edition models

These were ca. $28.00 when first issued. I assume that they are not in any web stores at this time. So, basically you are paying $10.00 more than their issue price. I don't think that is too bad, esp. if you like them. I do have their King Tiger with Sign Posts, and really like it. Congrats on the purchase. Dragon really has never made a bad model.

Re: Limited Edition models

I've got an RC 1/72 Tiger which was a Ltd Edition at the launch of the RC tanks at the Tokyo Toy Fair. Its got a unique paintjob, a logo marked charger base and comes in a fitted aluminium case, also logo'd up. Ltd to 500, were given to importers/bigwigs/distributors etc. I saw one go on ebay a year or so ago for over £300. I'll post some pics when I can. To the the best of my knowledge there are only 3 of them in the UK.

I own that model, dasboot, and I can tell you, it’s a crowd pleaser. Most Dragon Armor/Cyber-Hobby models are intensely beautiful—especially their limited edition issues.

Talk about downright superlative. Take a look at these ...

If you can still find Cyber Hobby Limited Editions (try eBay), get them while you can. They're expensive, but believe me they get under your skin so bad you can’t get enough of ‘em.

It isn't faith that makes good science, Mr. Klaatu, it's curiosity. Sit down, please. There are several thousand questions I'd like to ask you.
