Re: Looking for a Sherman...What do you suggest?

Tundra04, I think you'll find that 1:72 Dragon Armor Shermans have better detail than 1:50 Corgi Shermans, and that they leave a great impression of their own. If you dislike the subtle weathering you could always do a little of your own

No disrespect to parsig9, but those Corgi Shermans look like they're splattered with something other than mud They really come like that?

So Milo, you're saying I shouldn't have on them?

The mud may be a little much but they are the same price as the Dragons, alot bigger, and all metal. If that matters....??

Re: Looking for a Sherman...What do you suggest?

I say get the larger Corgi tanks. I prefer the larger scale without a doubt. I don't know about the details but the impression is much better.

There is so much wrong with each of those Shermans that I wont get into all the details. If you are rivet/bolt counter then Dragon would be the way to go. Hobby Master has some good stuff too. The Corgi stuff is just wrong. Wrong turret with hull, wrong markings on wrong variants. Its as if they operate under the hey it looks like a Sherman so what!

Re: Looking for a Sherman...What do you suggest?

Hobby Master has two Shermans that served in The Battle Of The Bulge, one with white paint over the OD. I have one of these and it is quite good, including numerous add-on and carry on options not provided by Corgi's models. Also, its a decent size ( 1:48 ) which, in my book, makes it far more appealing than Dragon's Shermans---although I have some of these as well.

They do look good parsig9 but I still prefer the Dragons. I have the Phantom and Thunderbolt VII and well as the German camo Firefly. I figured I'd go for the Shermans that had a little more sting in the tail so to speak. Initially I didn't want to buy any Shermans because to my mind they weren't great tank on tank fighting machines but I relented, the Dragons just became too tempting when they started producing the upgunned versions. One of the other reasons I like them is the scale. Most of my aircraft collection is 1/72.

Start with Cool Studs, the Black Panther tank. Plus, it's black history month (Or it just ended?) so it's an appropriate time to start.

Anything for a weird life.
