Another hybrid Tiger I in 1/72

Last edited by A3driver : 02-21-2008 at 09:51 PM. Reason: Picture of original tank
Announced for April 2008: DRR 60291 1/72 Gruppe Fehrmann Tiger I "F05", Germany 1945

Quote: Dragon Armor’s Item No. 60291 represents one of Gruppe Fehrmann’s Tiger Is, vehicle number “F05”. It has been modeled precisely with all appropriate features for such a hybrid Tiger. A rough camouflage scheme of green has been hastily painted over the gray base, which provides this model with a unique appearance. This Dragon Armor model captures the sense of desperation and doom facing Germany as the Allies penetrated the Fatherland, and it makes a fine complement to the previously issued Gruppe Fehrmann Tiger I.

(Text and picture from Dragon Models USA website)

P.S. A picture that is credited as the original "F05" (with some differences to the Dragon model) can be found here:

Most Tigers I've seen from this group have cammo on the turrets as well. I'm not sure these were panzer grey either.

That tank may be completely accurate, I wouldn't know one way or another, but I have to say it looks kind of goofy painted like that.

Anything for a weird life.

Re: Another hybrid Tiger I in 1/72

Another note, most of the turret numbers were hand painted and rather crudely. These were school tanks rushed into the fight, hence the older hull and turret with newer roadwheels. I'll post pics later.

Re: Another hybrid Tiger I in 1/72

Hey shawn, I read somewhere that towards the end of the war the germans ran out of paint and some tanks were on the battlefield without it, any pics to confirm this???

Step away from the monitor, slowly. Put down the glue. How hold it right there, I'm trying to get a bead on you. No they had paint up to the end.

Nice shots shawn, what book is that from, I have a few tiger books here as well, one of the best tanks the germans made by far.

Re: Another hybrid Tiger I in 1/72

Tank nut,

You're not completely off there, it's well documented that some tanks going in to battle at the end of the war were not painted, they were only primered.
