I maybe crazy, but what's the hell with the name: "Velikye Luki"?

Velikye Luki is a town in the Northwestern Russia close to Latvia border and aplace of major fighting in the latter part of 1942 up to January 1943.

Sergye

Re: Dragon Sherman Firefly!

Sweet! Can't wait to get one! Oh, and I believe that this is the Firefly that is most often identified as the one that killed Wittman, it's "Velykie Luki", Sgt. Kite's Northhamptonshire Yeomanry tank. But, I think Sergey, didn't you post a article on the old MH that named a different tank that was confirmed to have got the kill on Wittmann?

Re: Dragon Sherman Firefly!

Excellent. I've been wanting some more Fireflys to go with my Aoshima ones.

I really hope they release another one with the extra storage box stuck on the rear of the turret like on the Euro Exclusive. Looking at the probable future releases, though, it looks like they'll just do one of those in German markings. Actually, it looks like they're going to half of the Fireflys in German markings, like they did with the T-34s. I like my allied tanks to fight my Germans, but not when Germans have as many allied tanks as the allies:

Re: Dragon Sherman Firefly!

Good to see a regular release similar to the Euro exclusive, which will probably be near impossible to get a decent price.

Also, I agree with you tankguy, IMO all these captured german schemes are a waste of effort on Dragon's part.

I agree with both you guys. I don't really care for the ones in captured markings.

Captured

I agree with both you guys. I don't really care for the ones in captured markings.

There is one noatble exception to this rule, which Dragon unfortunately seems to ignore. Emile Zeibold (I'm not sure about the spelling since it's my own translation from the Russina source) from Das Reich division scored 69 kills in captured T-34 seen below:

Sergey

Dragon DX'06 Sherman Firefly (No. 60250)

I picked up the new Dragon DX'06 Sherman Firefly today - excellent model. I was lucky enough to get the box signed by Douglas Kay, the actual gunner from the featured tank.

Here are some pictures. I think the detail is very good. I also bought a very nice wooden stand to place it on.
