Re: New 1/35 announcement: King Tiger

I purchased the #142 (initial production) Tunisa Tiger 1(the one above). Got no complaints other than it’s a little delicate around the turret. In fact, I busted off a pin on the loader’s hatch with little more than a gentle nudge. Ticked me off.

Otherwise, she’s a hyper-realistic replica of a monumental murderous monster tank. And I like it loads.

By the way, Dragon Can.Do produces 1/35 Tiger Aces figures ( Michael Wittmann among them) that look stunning posed beside (or on top of) this behemoth. (The “Kurt” commander is the hardest to find. Downright impossible, actually.)

Gort, a question: is the loader's hatch attached to the turret with a 'hinge & pin'? The reason I ask is that when I lift the hatch the 'hinge' is attached to it and the 'pin' is connected to the turret but they're not 'connected' and don't appear to be designed to work together as a functioning unit .

One sheep to rule them all ...

Cardo, I burried that monster downstairs in its box, so I don’t have it within easy reach. But if memory serves, a very thin appendage juts off the side and bottom of the loader’s hatch, which is meant, I believe, to impede the hatch from opening flush with the turret top. Whatever, I hardly even touched the thing and BINGO! Off it popped, deep into the model. I finally retrieved it, super-glued it, and called it good. Whew!

Hey, if you get a chance, Card, buy a couple of those Can.Do Tiger aces. Honestly, they really enhance the Tiger like nothing else. Very, very cool.

Thumbs up Re: New 1/35 announcement: King Tiger

When the 1-35 tiger came out I got a good look at it and the nice price tag of 89 dollers up here in lovely canada. As cool as this one is I will take the small one over it. Beside I think my wife might kill me for spending that much on a tank lol.
