Sherman 60307

Hello.

On http://www.geocities.jp/hobby_show_a...zuoka2007/pla/ somebody posted photos from the Shizuoka Hobby Show 2007, among them some Dragon Armor models including that Sherman:

What are the things applied to the turret for? Additional armor?

Launch rails for 60 lb rockets as used by the RAF on Typhoons. These were used at the Rhine Crossing by tanks of the 1st Coldstream Guards. The tanks were called Sherman Tulips.

Re: Sherman 60307

Now that is an interesting Sherman that I've never even heard about, let alone seen a picture of . I'll definitely be getting one of them as soon as they're readily available

One sheep to rule them all ...

Re: Sherman 60307

I was wondering when we would start seeing that. Dragon announced this as a 1/72 plastic kit not too long ago and the Dragon Armor version usually follows shortly behind. The link for it is below.

Whoa! A Typhoon-rocket toting Sherman? BRILLIANT!!! It appears Dragon’s getting into the armor game again. Fantastic!

It is never too late to be what you might have been.

Re: Sherman 60307

Great picture johnnyboy. Can't believe all the crap those Shermans are hauling or how close together they are parked. Obviously not worried about any air or artillery attacks. Have to research this, don't see any real value to an already potent Firefly to carry two rockets that cannot be near as accurate as the main gun.

Re: Sherman 60307

Cool, gives me hope for all the other variants I want to see. Chances are, if they’re making those rocket tanks (which I never thought I’d see in this line wich has been so German oriented for so long) they’re probably going to make EVERYTHING Sherman eventually.

There’s some other unannounced Shermans in that link as well…Two more 105s (this time with HVSS), and another Easy Eight (without the extra turret and side armor). Again, nothing unexpected as we’ve seen all these kits, but they look good and will be welcomed into my collection. (…My poor wallet.)
