Imitation is the sincerest form of flattery

Last edited by Canucklehead : 05-13-2007 at 06:10 PM. Reason: Direct hyperlink to two retail sites. Nice!
This is very weird... Tamiya is producing exactly the same die-cast models as Dragon... what's the point?

Compare these:

http://www.hlj.com/product/TAM21801
http://www.hlj.com/product/TAM21802

with these:

http://www.themotorpool.net/German-Tiger-I-Tank-sPzAbt-501-Tunisia-1942-p/dra61001.htm

The point is that we will not have to pay full price a year from now!

I bet that those companies are using the same reference books. HINT: get some Polish and Russian books with English "subtitles" to get the variety going.

1:35 scale is of no interest to me, but I would have gladly bough 1:72 models of those Tigers.

Regards,

Sergey

Re: Imitation is the sincerest form of flattery

Tamiya if I recall correctly was the first to come out with pre-built and painted armor. Dragon is the copy cat in this case. Now Dragon's tend to be better, I'll give them that. Still, in the armor arena, Dragon likes to jump on the bandwagon to beat out the competition. Even if it means the first release is not 100% accurate, but they'll swear up and down it is.
