Re: Dragon Nashorn 60188 Red Heart

I have the first Hornisse that Dragon issued. From my cursory research, the name "Hornisse" was changed to "Nashorn" on orders from Hitler. Here is my question: Is there any difference structurally in the Hornisse and the Nashorne, or is it simply a "rose by an other name?" Was only the name changed?

Follow-up. I answered my own question. The following is from an armor website: "Hornisse and Nashorn were almost identical with the only difference being the driver front plate and gun version (unnoticeable)."

I believe there were some modifications made internally but nothing you'd be able to spot on the model.

Re: Dragon Nashorn 60188 Red Heart

Copland,

The plate on the back of the Nashorne goes up too far, it should stop a little shorter than the plates that make up the side walls. Below is a picture of the real thing and I put a box or circle around what I'm talking about, notice how the side plates go up further than the back plate (by a couple inches). It's much more noticeable when looking at the real thing rather than in these pictures. Below shows how Dragon made the back plate go up and sit flush with the side plates. Most people wouldn't notice it and it doesn't take away from the overall appearance.

I think this camo was for that secretly planned 1946 Mars invasion. That's of course after Germany would beat back the Soviet Union and throw out the rest of the Allies from Europe.

I think its is called "Strawberries N Creame" camouflage, seen it featured in the Dragons 2010 catalog, Also known as #68871 . Looks 'cute' but has a nasty 'aftertaste' especially if you were a T-34 tank! Just wait until you see the "Rutti Frutti", "Rocky Road", "Key Lime", "Mint Chocolate Chip", "Chunky Monkey" and the "Mississippi Mud Pie" camo releases coming up soon, from a vender near you.

Re: Dragon Nashorn 60188 Red Heart

Legio,

Thanks for the info. You would think that Dragon would not have missed this, since they are known for their attention to detail. With all the interior detail, it would seem easy for them to have caught this. You ought to send your info to them.
