Dragon Kubelwagen

Below is a picture of a Dragon 1/72 Kubelwagen. It comes in either the color shown below or early war gray. Unfortunately they aren't sold by themselves so you have to get one of the Cyber Hobby Warbirds Exclusives to get them. Hopefully Dragon will release these individually as Dragon Armor. This Kubelwagen also included 2 prepainted 1/72 DAK figures that are quite nice.

Re: Dragon Kubelwagen

Great picture!!! I have one of these that comes with the Trop ME-109G-2 and I am very happy with it. And stold it for $25.00 postpaid. I recommend it highly. Which one does the grey Kubelwagon come with?

Oh wow, thank you for the heads up! It looks great. I may just get the airplane in order to get my hands onto one of these, but I do hope Dragon will release them by themselves eventually.

Re: Dragon Kubelwagen

That's my favorite C-H Warbird release. The figures are awsome.

Re: Dragon Kubelwagen

The gray Kubelwagen comes with Cyber Hobby Warbirds 50153, the one shown above comes with Cyber Hobby Warbirds 50119. What's good about this one is that it's intended for DAK, but with a few green and brown camo stripes can be used for late war.

Knowing Dragon, they're unlikely to let an opportunity like this go by and will most likely soon release them in as many liveries as possible - desert, snow, camo., grey, green, tropical, with pink dots, without pink dots etc.

Re: Dragon Kubelwagen

Does anyone know for sure that this is a true, original Dragon mould? Academy do an excellent mould of The Kubel and the Shwim wagon, and one Academy set features a shwim, an Opel Petrol Bowser and a Bomb carrier. It would not surprise me if Cyber Hobby had used some of the Academy accessories as an extra.

No shop sells Cyberhobby stuff round here, so I can't have a good look.

I can't tell you how many times I've e-mailed Hongwell suggesting that they produce a diecast Kubel in 1.72. They produce a jeep in 1.72 but also produce a jeep and a Kubel in 1.43.....I can't understand their marketing policy at all!

Anyway, this Kubel looks very nice, but I would never pay a premium to have one. If this really is a new Dragon mould, I'm sure that we'll see as many versions as Cardinal suggests ( and more! ) and quite possibly marketed as a set with another vehicle ( let's hope ).

Perhaps Academy could do what Dragon and others have done and make these sets available as built and painted sets!!!! Hint!!!!

Re: Dragon Kubelwagen

They're definetely not the Academy version Kubelwagen as I've built one of those in the past. It's hard to say if they're Dragons own, though I would think yes since everything else in the sets are. The two included DAK figures are very nice.

Re: Dragon Kubelwagen

Thanks for the intel, LegioLXXll. I guess that if Dragon have produced a new mould of the Kubel, we can expect them to start to diversify into other areas.

When will they produce a series of Panzer lVs ? They have produced many items using that chassis, but so far, no lV.

It's a mystery.....
