Re: Best Dragon Ever !

I would have to go with the 251 halftrack series. I've always loved the real thing, and Dragon has done (and continues to do) a very nice job with them.

Great choices, Tank Guy.

I have ( thus far ) been able to secure a copy ( sometimes two or three ) of each of the models which have been released so far. I also have a copy of each kit ( some of which I'm building right now )

Of the mix of 251s which have been available, which one would you say was the best?

I received that Tiger I recently A3driver and it is a beaut. I now have about 6 Tiger 1s, I'll need some contemplation to decide which one I like best.

I have six Tiger's, 60019, 60020, 60022, 60062, 60097 and one from the 60227 set (60098 I think). I really don't know which one I like best. It's that tough to choose! The one I like least is 60062.

from that lot ( see above ! ) I would have a hard job to pick out just one......................but be hard! Choose the very best, and put your choice in the running. Tigers, Hummels, Panthers and 251s are making the best running, so far.

Come on you Dragon fans! Put your money where your mouth is and make a choice for the :

BEST STANDARD PRODUCTION DRAGON MODEL, SO FAR !

Don't be shy,
Have a try.
Make your choice,
Let others cry!

Re: Best Dragon Ever !

This is my favorite 251. #60230 I love the particular shade of dunkelgelb used on this model. I find that dragon ofter gets their dunkelgelb too mustardy. The extra cammo on the stroage boxes is a nice touch. I'm looking forward to Dragon eventually selling crewed versions of all their vehicles, but especially open topped models like the 251.

Yes, I like this 251C too. I think that it came as the second release in the 251 range. I bought three at the time because I bekieved that they would all disappear fast. However, the " Treasure Bunker ", one of my local hobby shops still have some left! This is from the guys who had a whole box of Dragon number 60001 on the shelf for months and never told me!

As for the troops to man the 251 and give it life, you'll just have to buy the couple of Preiser sets dedicated to this scenario and paint them yourself :
seated infantry

set for 251 with mortar

set for 251 with 75 pak AT gun ( not out yet )

Panzer Grenadiers on the march

infantry resting ( place them in, on and about the 251.

Re: Best Dragon Ever !

some more Preiser figures to animate your 251s :
panzer grenadiers disembarking from 251

civilians waving

goats, pigs and chickens ( no skunks ! )

infantry on the march

tank crews resting

tank crews and commanders ( various periods ) resting/loading/in tank, out of hatch

soldiers on leave

refugees

quite a choice....but a lot of work....some are multi-part and require some degree of modelling know-how!

but well worth it !
