Talking Re: Red Panther

We got this one on the Dragons in the UK last month.
The 'captured' PANTHER is due this country in September. It looks as if the Ruskies have done nothing to the Panther except to add a star. I like the red star on the black ground...what a target! It might as well say, " Aim here, lads! "
CAPTURED PANTHER G SOVIET ARMY, EASTERN FRONT, LAKE BALATON HUNGARY 1945
( due in September )

Re: Red Panther

HUH, theres a twist. Usually its an Allied vehicle in German markings. I guess they are getting their moneys worth out of this mold. But I doubt they are out of Sherman options. Unless they just gave up on the idea.

Re: Red Panther

This model is complete and utter garbage, which has nothing to do with quite attractive original. The images below are from a book titled "Captured German Vehicles in the Service of the Red Army":

I agree completely. A piss poor (excuse my language) effort on Dragon's part.

Re: Red Panther

good call, Berkut!

They could have given us a take on that Panther with the ambush camo pattern ( and no Zimmerit! ) and it would have been a much nicer model.

Someday soon (?) I'll get round to posting (photo's of) the rest of my 'Armour' that I've travelled to (& photographed) on various different 'trips' around various different European Battlefields !

Meantime these two shots (there are more !) are of my 'fave' " Red Panther " !!!!!!!!!

('Ex' RED - she was painted up Camo' for the '94 commemorations, & visits ' inside ' the old-girl, were stopped, as they (crudely) welded some non-original metal hatches, to deter would be 'Enthusiasts' like us !!!!!!

As these shots were taken on my 1st visit, back in '93 I was actually able to go inside the Panther (open hatches, THEN ! )

Still, to this Day, the ONLY Tank I have ever been inside !!!!!!!!!
