Re: Today's Dragons in the U.K.

Just for easy8, I thought that I'd put pics of the two Easy8s together so that they may be compared :

They both look good to me!

Re: Today's Dragons in the U.K.

Thanks MoMo! I'm definitley getting both, and although I'm primarily a WWII armor guy, I would love to see Dragon come out with a couple Korean War Tiger Face schemes!

Yes, easy8, but if you wish for that someone else will come up with an even longer wish-list!

Easy Models are dipping their toes into vehicles which represent the Korean conflict, so you might be lucky there. Not as well defined as Dragons, but more adventurous.

Re: Today's Dragons in the U.K.

I've just seen the Luxembourg snow-camo Sherman and it's one of the best looking Shermans to date . The rivetted hull Sd.Kfz. 251/2 (grey with tan stripes + mortar) is also excellent .

Re: Today's Dragons in the U.K.

What a day it's been for me! I visited two shops and found a pile of Dragon stuff which I had been waiting for.

First : GERMAN Sd.Kfz.251/2 Ausf.C RIVETTED VERSION. I got two of these just as the guy was taking them out the box at Treasure Bunker. I was pleased to see that the etched metal trays for the ammo boxes were well represented and that the whole of the rear arrangement for the vehicle was looking perfect. Also, the etched brass overlays for the hull which carry the rivets was there too. There is a great deal more work involved in assembling this 251/2 type than the standard model, so collectors should appreciate the fine detail. I do.

Next : GERMAN SDKFZ 251/2 AUSF.C HALF-TRACK RIVETTED HULL EASTERN FRONT 1942
You can see the detail in this pic. Even nicer in the flesh! There was only one of these in the Wargamers' shop ( Static/A1 Comics ) next to the Treasure Bunker, so I got it. Two really excellent models. Both are unidentified by unit markings, so if you like to build up squads, like LegioLXXll, then these are the two to go for.

Next : SHERMAN M4A3 105mm VVSS 6th ARMOURED DIV. LUXEMBOURG 1944

This is the first of the TWO snow camo 105s which I bagged! I'm really pleased with the camo job. Well done, Dragon!

Next : the second M4A3 105. Dragon Armor 60283 M4 Sherman Tank Diecast Model
US Army 4th Armored Div, France, 1944. Not as dramatic as the first model, but quite pleasing nevertheless!

I still have more to post ( what a good day I had ) but I'll create a new posting so that I don't tax the patience of the 'don't post too many pics in the one post' rule!

Talking Re: Today's Dragons in the U.K.

MoMo's big day out, Part Two :

After all the excitement of finding 4 Dragons which I was looking for, I found more. After a quick trip to the cash machine, the next thing to grab my attention was this :

Dragon Armor 60277 SdKfz 251 Half-Track Diecast Model
German Army, Kursk, Russia, 1943
This is only the second of the Pioneer Wagons to come my way. I like the camo scheme on this one.

Next : GERMAN SPZ.JGABT.654 FERDINAND KURSK - This version is the special Cyber-Hobby edition from Dragon and is packaged in a special display tin with a Battle of Kursk commemorative sleeve.
I saw this and jumped! I knew that Toybox were waiting for them to arrive, but here they were. On the shelf. And pointing at me!

Also : GERMAN SPZ.JGABT.653 FERDINAND KURSK 1944 - This version is the special Cyber-Hobby edition from Dragon and is packaged in a special display tin with a Battle of Kursk commemorative sleeve.

Both of these vehicles cost me £ 14.99, which is the same as Toybox when you've added the postal costs.

So, quite a day! The prices for the other Dragons averaged £10.99, which seems to be the standard price in the U.K. at this time.

Cheers, Collectors,

and happy hunting!

Momo, this store where you bought the CH Ferdinands. Does it have a website? I'd love to get my hands on both of these.

Re: Today's Dragons in the U.K.

Although MoMo's less than polite views on Lady Thatcher and Sir Winston are clearly questionable , his taste in Dragon Armor is impeccable .
