Re: Today's Dragons in the U.K.

That 1/72 Sherman M4 Normandy Co. C, 70th Tank Battalion, Utah Beach Normandy D-Day 1944 slated for august in the USA looks great. And you don't have to buy a landing-craft with it!

Many of the recent items which have been heralded for the near future in the USA have not shown up yet on UK sites. I'm starting to panic.......will we see them?

They're like Unicorns Momo! All you have to do is believe and close your eyes (for six to eight weeks).

Unhappy Re: Today's Dragons in the U.K.

I checked out Wonderland in Edinburgh today. There were no new Dragons. Only a few Easy Models ( but not the 'turncoat' I was after ). Also, I spotted about 8 of H.M.'s KV 2 in it's winter camo. I have one of these, so I left the rest alone.

News is thin on the ground !

Talking Re: Today's Dragons in the U.K.

We now have a projected date of arrival for this Sherman. September,2008, price £14.99.

This one is posted as " new Arrival ", priced at a whopping £22.99 :

The diecast site which I pick up information on has posted two of Dragon's dioramas at bargain prices.....looks like not enough fish biting :

Cheers,

MoMo

What is going on with these prices for 1:72 scale tanks? Do you realize that 22.99 British pounds = $45.42 U.S. dollars?

Higher taxes here, 172WW2! 17.5% Value Added Tax+bigger mark-ups ( less market )Higher shop rents, higher local taxes, higher transport costs, etc., etc.

Re: Today's Dragons in the U.K.

Checked out the usual shops today, scouting for new Dragons.......no luck! I did spy a load of new Easy Model issues and could not resist this :

EM36258 - M4A3E8 Sherman Medium Tank
5th Infantry Tank Company, 24th Infantry Division.

But I was also tempted by this :

Fancy rides, huh?

Re: Today's Dragons in the U.K.

Just ordered one of these from HofH for $21. Very excited about this tank and can't wait to see it next to my Corgi. Also HofH had the Tamiya oil stain and blue powder set for $8 for the F-100d when it arrives. I want to try that. This is the first Dragon tank I've bought in months. Since FlyingMule had the CH Kings for sale last spring. I only add about 3-4 tanks a year at most.

I bet these go fast...
