Re: Today's Dragons in the U.K.

called into my local model shop to collect sherman 60360 @ the new price of £16.99,the shop had 3 to choose from,ALL 3 HAD FAULTY TRACKS ,as per the promo photo,so i put all 3 back on the shelf and bought 60337 instead since i had travelled 10 miles to collect my sherman to avoid my journey being a waste of time.the words i told you so spring to mind since it was i who raised this endemic fault,is everyone else quite happy with this or is it just me being too fussy?.well for ever onwards,my search continues for 60360 without faults, the question is does one actually exist? or will it become my holy grail something of a myth .If anyone finds a faultless example please tell me.

Re: Today's Dragons in the U.K.

When do we get it here? It should reach the USA in July of this year.

DRR 60362

Content:
- LCM(3) Landing Craft x 1
- Sherman M4A1 w/Deep Wading Kit x 1
- U.S. infantrymen x 6
- Sailer for the LCM(3) x 3
- Beach Obstacles x 6
- Diorama Base x 1

The Atlantic Wall was a formidable series of fortifications stretching from France to Norway, and to breach it, the Allies needed special equipment. The point chosen to penetrate the seemingly impregnable fortress of Europe was Normandy, and D-Day was set as June 6, 1944. The massive seaborne invasion involved the greatest armada ever assembled, including a staggering 6939 naval vessels! This total included 4126 specialist landing ships/craft. Dragon’s new 1/72 diorama set features one such landing craft, an LCM(3), also known as a “Higgins” boat. The vessel was capable of carrying a single Sherman tank or 60 soldiers.

Dragon Armor's fantastic new set includes such a landing craft, plus an accurate and well-detailed M4A1 tank kit. The tank has been readied for the invasion by having deep-water wading stacks added. The M4A1 tank accurately reflects how a tank would have appeared when storming the beaches of Normandy. But there’s much more included in this Dragon Armor Diorama Set! A team of six U.S. infantrymen, a crew of three sailors for the LCM(3), plus a series of beach obstacles (so-called “hedgehogs”), are all offered. All these components come together on a complete diorama base provided in the box. Each item has been assembled and painted with great care. This is a truly comprehensive set that brings D-Day to life, thus enabling modelers to recreate one of the most momentous days of WWII!

I haven't seen one in the flesh. When I do, I'll check it out carefully..............I always do-especially the tracks. However I'm checking them out to make sure I get the best of the bunch!

Re: Today's Dragons in the U.K.

It's a mystery to me that this unique model has never been offered as a pre-build from Dragon :

( would you buy one if it was available ? )

Re: Today's Dragons in the U.K.

Yes Momo I Would Buy This Model If / When Its Released, but I Feel Dragon Need To Expand The Range With A Diversity Of Vehicles Both Allied And Axis.doing That Would Give The Collector More Choice For His/her Collection And Make The Collection Seem More Complete,as It Stands If You Only Collect Dragon Armor, your Collection Is Over Run With German Heavies/other Vehicle Types.soviet And British Vehicles Are Sorely Lacking In Comparision, which Is Sad Really Since Both Countries Produced An Interesting Array Of Armour Vehicles During Ww2,that Would Certainly Make The Average Collector Salivate At The Prospect Of Getting One Or Two.i Am Sure Dragon Has Plans Afoot To Expand The Range,we Can Only Hope They Take Our Feed Back Into Consideration,we Can Only Wait And See.

Re: Today's Dragons in the U.K.

That would be a neat looking addition. It would be nice to see some of the different variants of the tank chassis. Bergepanther recovery vehicle would make for a neat looking model too.

Brewster Buffalo, Hawk 75A, Fokker D.XXI, Polikarpov I-16, Fiat G.50, Macchi C. 200, PZL P.11c, Fieseler Fi 156 Storch ,,,, now those are real planes.

I would buy one too. A Bergepanther would be nice too! We can only hope that Dragon continues to release new items once in a blue moon.

Re: Today's Dragons in the U.K.

The Bergpanzer lV which serviced the giant mortars like Ziu, etc is made in kit form ( 1.72 ) by Hasegawa. You can only get it with the Mortar kit. It's a pretty crude kit though.
