Re: Today's Dragons in the U.K.

These are pics of the two Stug llls which LegioLXlll has posted on his Diecast 1.72 site. They are brilliant looking machines, but as far as I'm concerned, they never happened ! I never saw them in the U.K. ( quite a pair of representatives; note the two versions of the mantlet and the two versions of the drive wheels )

DRR 60089Stug III

DRR 60090Stug111

I have been looking for these two as well and no luck. Anyone know where you can get these???

Re: Today's Dragons in the U.K.

I would like them to do a repaint of that exact same Firefly but in OD w/Brit markings. *That* would be a cool piece!

Or in Canadian markings...We haven't got any Canadian armor yet, and I know they used track-draped Fireflies. (Like this one.) No matter who it's credited to, we need one in Allied hands for sure. (And one in my hands too...That last one didn't make it to the States...)

Re: Today's Dragons in the U.K.

Hi,
I'm in the US. How can I get my hands on a Dragon 1/72 Sherman Firefly VC #60321 if it's only been released in Europe? The hobby shop in Scotland mentioned in a previous post does NOT have their email working.
Thank you,
Dennis

Re: Today's Dragons in the U.K.

I know Hannants in the UK sells it, though I don't know how they compare in pricing and shipping rates with other online vendors in the UK. I've ordered from them once to the US and had no problems.

I plan on ordering one as well.

Re: Today's Dragons in the U.K.

As there have been a few questions about the Stug llls which Dragon listed two years ago, has anyone ever seen them or bought them ? Perhaps this was one of those occasions when a release appeared briefly, or perhaps only in one area. Hmmmmmmmmmm!

None of those were ever released. Just like the two jagdpanthers they promised us.

This one ( as featured by Toy Federation on another thread ) is slated to be released in the U.K. in December. Price £9.99

Just the thing to hook up with all those old Airfix WW2 U.S. Marines, circa 1962 !

Model no : DR60331

Re: Today's Dragons in the U.K.

New - Dragon 30319 - Captured Sherman with German painter.

It looks like Dragon 60259 only because it's the same tank.

Stay tuned for green tarp version, the crane version, and the Re-captured version.

That's hilarious that they have to put a painter guy in there to try and sell that dog of a model. You don't see them doing that with the *only* Brit marked firefly released in the standard line, do you? Maybe they start to get a freaking clue and release a wider variety of allied vehicles in *allied* markings.

Actually, now that I think about it, instead of making and painting a fig to put in there, they should have just gone back with a little od green and painted over all the german markings on that thing and then sold it as a standard Brit firefly. I would actually buy it then!

Re: Today's Dragons in the U.K.

...Or cover the markings with spare tracks...Please! They better release an Allied Firefly covered in that manner and not just the 'captured' German one. (Which we''ll see a year from now parked next to a building and packed with a little man. Or maybe one that the Russians captured from the Germans?) This will be, what, four out of five regular release Fireflies that are German?!? Dragon, I'm pretty sure the German armor enthusiasts suggested you need to make more German Panzers not more Sherman Panzers!

I'm a big Sherman fan, but I'm not going to buy another Firefly unless it's in Allied markings...Western Allied Markings...Commonwealth specifically...Just make it Canadian, or at least another Brit tank. (Not the SAME Brit tank with a painter mind you, but a completely different tank. I know they operated at least as many as our enemies did.)
