Re: Some reviews

so so far material is unkown. I know all the styrene and model kit accuracies and stuff like that, i build dragon kits (sorry that i forgot to mention that ) Dragon kits are EXTREMLY complex and introcite (spelling?), which makes for great display items. The only gripe i have about getting a plastic tank is that when you pay 80 dollars for it, you kind of expect an expensive material. Nonetheless, dragon armor is extremely....how should i put this....awsome.

Re: Some reviews

That is a beautiful looking panther. Thanks for another wonderful review chascbv, by why does Dragon say it's an unidentified unit and then put LSSAH insignia on the tank?

Thanks for your kind words, DirtyACE, I appreciate it.

Of course I cannot answer your question in a definite way, but I suspect they're avoiding the term "SS" for some legal or political correction reason. If memory serves me well this is not the first model with an "unidentified unit" on it that could be easily adscribed to an SS unit (don't remember which model, though), and other models belonging in SS units are labelled in such a way that the the term "SS" is absent (i.e., 1st PzDiv instead of 1st SS-PzDiv -- e.g., Tiger 60098, half-track 60236, and Wittmann's Tiger in 1/35). They could have adopted the latter practice with this one and label it "PzDiv LAH", for instance, so I don't really know.

Re: Some reviews

Thanks for the intel on " 330 ". I've been hors de combat for the past few weeks,
cheers,

MoMo

You been fighting your horse ???????????????????????????

Well it sounds like the hors won.

I try not to look in this thread, some of these models on show are just superb and resisting is very difficult.
The 1/72 scale models would slot in nicely between my planes and not take up much space either, oh dear I must resist, I must resist.
Then of course there are all those tailburners on offer !!

Oh my aching wallet.

God Bless America.

Re: Some reviews

Has anybody got the new Dragon 1/35 German Army 1./s.Pz.Abt.505, #334, Nowe Koszary, 1944?

If so could you review it here?

I am a big fan of the Pz.Abt 505 Tigers. I am a bit confused by this one though. The Tiger has the late features such as the commanders cuppola, steel wheels and the charging knight emblem. However there does not appear to be any zimmermat? Does anybody know whether this is a model of a genuine tank or have dragon made a really basic error???

Would love to hear your thoughts.

Re: Some reviews

Hello njmlondon. I don't own #334 myself, but I found the following info from The Armor Site! (Tiger Tank Battalions during WWII - Page 2):

After the Kursk offensive, sPzAbt 505 was moved to the Smolensk area. During the fall of 1944, sPzAbt 505 was equipped with new version Tiger Is, which had cast cupolas, zimmerit, and the new steel-rimmed wheels developed for the Panzerkampfwagen Tiger Ausf.B. The 505th was ordered out of the Eastern Front on 7 July 1944, to rest and refit at the troop grounds at Ohrduf. By early September, 1944, sPzAbt 505 had been equipped with new Panzerkampfwagen Tiger Ausf.B. sPzAbt 505 was used with 24th and 25th Panzer Divisions, initially against the Narev bridgeheads in the 1944 Russian offensive into East Prussia. The battalion fought in East Prussia until the end of the conflict.

Sounds to me like Dragon goofed big time! It's too bad, like you I'm a fan of the 505th

Re: Some reviews

to mjmlondon dragon have made a serious error with this tiger, i have several photos of the same company tanks at NOWE KOSZARY in 1944 and all have zimmerit ,also 505 were distinctive along with 503 by attaching KLETTERBALKEN or crossing beams to the side of their tanks, all previous dragon 505 models have no kletterbalken on the tank i have had to add them on myself to make the model correct especially when like your model, dragon are so SPECIFIC on tank no ,location of operation and year ,to do all that and still get it wrong is to say the least strange. There is enough info on tigers out there for dragon to get it right .i hope this helps you in someway.
