Thumbs up Fit & Finish

Is it just me, or should someone send the tool & die makers at Dragon a set of calipers and a micrometer? I really like their issues and liveries, but the fit of the parts to the underbody and wings leaves much to be desired. I just finished assembing a P-47D,47th FS [DRW50116],with the help of fine grade sandpaper, a small diameter rat-tail file for expading the holes, some fast drying cement and an extra pair of hands, my wife's. It turned out fine. I was an avid modeler in the 60s, [I had the air brush, paints and decals, et al], and switched to die cast models for some pretty obvious reasons.

It's definitely not just you, the fit of 'fiddly bits' to Dragon models is something of a curse. The P47 is not that bad, you should try their FW190s - now they can be a real pain (although they're well worth it ).

One sheep to rule them all ...

Re: Fit & Finish

This is what bugs me about dragon, otherwise they are all great models, and i love the moving surfaces compared to corgi, but the fit on some of the pieces is horrible, and has been discussed here before. oh well, i guess there will be always be something to complain about...
