Re: Dragon and the F-22A

I was reading an article about the retirement of the F-14 tomcat from Air and Space. There was a quote from a Tomcat pilot that can be applied to the F-35. Here's the excerpt (just substitute F-35 in place of Super Hornet), "I'm flying the Super Hornet now, and it's a very capable jet. The thing is new, and it's as dependable as a Japanese car. Everything works, all the time. But I'm sorry- it just ain't sexy. The Tomcat is sexy. I remember forming up after a fight or something, looking over, thinking, 'Damn, that's a great-looking jet.' The Tomcat is like your 20-year-old cherry Corvette, and the Hornet is like a nice new Accord."

Exactly my point....

Re: Dragon and the F-22A

Im not sure exactly how the guys at dragon paint the aircraft but I know its by machine. The NSAWC F-16D thats in the dessert camo is perfectly painted with NO airbrush "fuzz" on the edges of patterns. Plus a buddy of mine has the same bird and they are litterally exactly alike. at one point they were side by side and i may have ended up with his. If dragon got the timing right id bet they could do the painting right. Any company could probably get it right. The ony problem is is that they would have to take the time to do it.

Re: Dragon and the F-22A

My concern is that we get 1 or 2 more "not so great" attempts from manufacturers that will yield lackluster sales and saturate the market. Then the OEM's that can produce a great F-22 decide to pass on the planedue to poor sales. Please HM, hear our pleas! This jet is going to be around for the next 25 years - let's have a real great model of this plane.

I like the call letters on the tail HO...Reminds me of the Blue Noser days... I like to see them make this one and the FF Raptor too.
