Re: Dragon and the F-22A

You can always send that GC F-22 my way, Pappy...I don't mind at all!

Just got it today. (edwards version).. my initial impression is that it's not bad 'tal. Though I'm sure whoever comes out with one will improve upon it -- but the color looks good, very close to the real deal I saw demo last year up in Sacramento.

Front gear is either too high or the main struts are too low, as it doesn't sit level -- and it's got an extended tail hook option (should it?)

The hinges for the bay doors are also pretty darn obvious -- they look fine open, closed they are klugy looking -- though unless you siti t on a mirrored surface you can't see 'em.

Pics in a bit...

Re: Dragon and the F-22A

Modern aircraft are not my thing, but why wouldn't Century Wings tackle one of these F-22 bugggers? Looking at everyone's pics in their collections, they seem to be the best company for producing modern fighters.

'never part of Nimitz air wing, not Naval Aviation, never stationed at Yokosuka and not in "The Final Countdown".

Re: Dragon and the F-22A

Ive seen the raptor many many times both at nellis, edwards and holloman (a nellis bird though). ive also had a gaincorp raptor and sold it a year later. (as for the coloration....only the EDWARSDS aircraft have the flat coat!!!!!!!! Thus the gaincop coloration might pass. In any case there are no operational units with gaincorp and they would need new paint and frankly a new mould. For those of you who have the gaincorp bird and know alot about the F-22 you know its only a low-mid class model. As for witty and the coloration...ive got a federal standard color placard and i can assure you witty is not always on par with their colors. Plus every weapon the produce is WHITE!!!!!!!!!!!! AND THEY HAVE CRAPPY WEAPONS OPTIONS!!! However, I do agree that if they start having the gear option it might be better. If witty did their gear option and gave it REAL LOOKING weapons instead of crap!! and got the coloration right then maybe id buy some. Im not agains witty i have three of their birds. But this isnt an easy aircraft to tackle. an F-22 that has any realistic qualities is gonna be a tough one to do. ESPECIALLY THE COLORATION. I dont consider myself an f-22 expert but I do know a little bit about the aircraft.

Re: Dragon and the F-22A

pappy i believe all airforce jets have tailhooks to stop them over shooting the end of the runway, there's an arrester wire at the end as a last resort if things go wrong. i know the dragon F-16s do although they are fixed in place, and i would imagine F15s will have aswell

Indeed. I think the Raptor would be a fantastic choice for Century Wing's first non-Navy aircraft. Hobby Master would also do a great job on the F-22 (so long as there were no washed panel lines). Hey! How about CW does a 1/72 and Hobby Master does a 1/48th??!!!

Re: Dragon and the F-22A
